Dr. Bernard Topi, MD

My experience with Dr. Toppy began three months ago when he recommended a procedure that I was initially hesitant about. While he explained its supposed benefits and addressed my questions, the outcomes he promised were never delivered. While recovering, I sought clarification about my treatment, but the doctor dismissed my concerns and avoided giving clear answers. He replaced a medication that was safe for my kidneys with one known to be potentially harmful. When I questioned this, his response was simply, "So don't take it." After pushing for a safer option, he prescribed a different medication, assuring me, "Your kidneys will love this." However, I later discovered that the new medication didn't actually address the original issue the first medication was meant to treat. At that point, I decided to switch doctors because I no longer felt comfortable under his care.

Above and beyond. Perfect bedside manner. My experience with this Dr had been as pleasant as possible

When I moved to citrus county from Tampa I had hoped I would find a good cardiologist, instead I found a wonderful cardiologist. He is wonderful at explaining the process of what is going on with your heart and what needs to be done. I also believe he has a great staff I see them every six months. Thank you Dr Topi!

Both my husband and I starting seeing Dr. Topi at the beginning of this year -- 2024. He is very friendly and personable to us. In fact, when we first met him, he teased my husband about is Dallas Cowboys hat that he had on . LOL He has no problems answering questions and is patient about explaining the answers unlike some doctors. He has a wonderful bedside which is surprising for some surgeons lol. Last week husband had to have a heart catheterization. He came out to speak to me after my husband's procedure. He explained to me the results and the new medication he was adding for 6 months. And he said hubby was to be on baby aspirin for 6 days and medication for 6 months. He said remember "6 and 6".

Dr. Topi is always in a hurry and does not spend enough time explaining what the results are from recent testing.

He is the best. His staff needs a little more patience and empathy specific the one I talked. I’m not the only one saying this. The Office I go is in Inverness is a pleasure to go there.

This place is an absolute train wreck. First visited them in December and had some testing done in January. Had to call a few times to get results. They finally called me back and said the results were normal. I accessed the portal, and it showed the doctor hadn’t even reviewed the results. The Echo Cardiogram I received stated that the Study Quality was “Technically Poor Study” – which has me worried and I can’t get an answer if I have medial problems or if the machinery they have is faulty. I had this test on the 2nd of January 2024 - seven weeks ago. This is very frustrating waiting 7 weeks to get an answer on the meaning of Technically Poor Study. Still waiting for the stress test results as they were not on the portal as of today – 21 February. I had the test on 24 January and was told the test was normal – not sure why I can’t see the results. Dr prescribed me a medication that I was having a problem with back in early January. My husband had a problem in the cath lab and Dr. Topi literally saved his life. He is a skilled, caring, miracle worker. We will be forever grateful for his expertise and ability to persevere in any circumstance! Kudos and blessings to Dr. Topi! You won’t find a better guy than him.

Was my surgeon for heart cath. Just awesome. Put my fears to rest. Showed me how it was going to go and it went just like he said. Thorough and his team was perfect. I couldn’t ask for anything better than I had. Number 1 in my book

Dr. Bernard Topi is one of the most sweetest and friendliest doctors I have ever met. I recently became a new patient of his, and I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be. I have some health issues, and he immediately and professionally took care of me. I had a 75% blockage in one of my heart Arteries, and Dr. Topi did a catheterization and put a stent in the artery. I feel physically and emotionally 100% better. He will continue to take care of other health issues I may have and won't settle until we find answers. I definitely put my faith and trust in Dr. Topi. He has the most beautiful bedside manner too. He constantly came by to check on me when I was in the hospital. I recently seen him for my follow-up and he went over everything with me and answered all my questions. He will take his time with you, and not rush you like other doctors have done to me. Will I trust Dr. Topi with my life in his hands, ABSOLUTELY YES!! Thank you Dr. Topi, and my husband gratefully thanks you too!

My father was seen in the hospital for congestive heart failure. Dr Topi came in, told him he has leukemia and there is nothing we can do for you, and walked out. That is NOT acceptable behavior. First of all, his leukemia is a new diagnosis and has not even been treated for it yet. There are things you can do for him, but you chose not to. You DO NOT treat patients this way. We will find a new doctor that is capable.

Dr. Topi is very knowledgeable and has great expertise, but I think what really makes him stand out is his true empathy and caring attitude. He is always there for his patients. He cares and it shows !!! If you need a great doctor, look no further.

I feel like Dr. Topi cares for me like he would care for a family member. He is very easy to talk to and went above and beyond to find someone who could remedy my challenge when it could not be fixed locally. I am so grateful for Dr. Topi going the extra mile on my behalf! I have a new lease on life, no longer need a service dog to help me get around and I am doing things I have not been able to do for the last 10 years. Thank you Dr. Topi!

First time was when they send me to close MRI and when I heard various sound of bombs, rockets and bullets I panic furiously told the nurse to get me out of there. The 2nd time was when I had stroke and was helicoptered at Shan Hospital Gainsville fl. for 3 weeks. Being a Veteran, the VA required me to have a Cardiologist. After profiling Dr. Bernard Topi from Crystal River to Inverness of Citrus Memorial Hospital in which I lost my trust years ago when I almost died with Pnuemonia which the emergency Dr. send me home claiming I only had a fever. Lucky for me I was discovered by a retired friend Dr. Santos, and send me to Advent hospital, Ocala and was healed. Dr. Topi took care of my wife who was getting weak daily and need Sonogram, check up and heart problem. We're bless with Dr. Topi, and Citrus Memorial Hospital for having him. A great assets to HCA. He is adept to his profession, kind, happy and pleasant to all his patients including all his staff nurses. God bless.

Having an extensive medical history, 83 years old, I have been to too many doctors that I care to remember. Dr Topi, was excellent in his professional manners, very friendly, good manners, etc. he is probably one of the most pleasant health professional I have dealt with. He has earned my respect and confidence.

I went to 2 different cardiologists for over two years. Neither one could find the cause for my issues. I moved and decided to try one more time to get help. Dr. Topi found my problem in two visits and I had a potentially deadly blockage that he was able to repair. He’s a very knowledgeable and dedicated professional!

Dr Topi came into the room filled with energy. He is a spark! He was patient when we were trying to figure out what medications my father was taking. He was compassionate and humorous. Most importantly, he LISTENED. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Topi is very personable. Great bed side manners and listen. He takes the time to explain things so you can understand them. Even my family commented to me how great he was and are switching cardiologist so to see Dr. Topi.

Dr. Topi is 1 of the best health professionals I have come across. He performed my Heart Catheterization and strongly recommended that I have bypass surgery. With his comforting bedside manner he indicated that I would do very well after surgery. His follow up visits with me after my surgery were appreciated and he did not perform my surgery. Simply a very friendly, funny and caring physician. I Highly recommend anyone to seek out his expertise.
