Fantastic doctor
My elderly father has been seeing Dr. Winders since his heart attack in 2022. The doctor has always been very thorough, very compassionate, and immensely patient with my father (who loves to chat). I appreciate that Dr. Winders gives you straight, up-front information, and doesn't sugar coat or speak 'doctor talk' that we can't understand. Honestly, sometimes the news isn't always good (not the doctor's fault), but I can tell that he is truly empathetic and concerned when delivering the news to us. I highly recommend Dr. Winders. His staff has always been courteous and very helpful, as well. An A plus from me and my Dad.

Ineffective Clinic Operations Hindering Exception
While I have experienced exceptional one-on-one care from Dr. Winders as my cardiologist, the overall clinic operations leave much to be desired. The process of refilling my prescription has been challenging, with multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach the clinic via phone. Despite leaving the necessary information as instructed by their answering machine, I have not received a refill or a callback. When I finally managed to navigate the phone system, I reached "Jose," who consistently provided unhelpful, curt, and borderline condescending assistance. Both my pharmacy and I have attempted to contact the clinic for my prescription refill, but neither of us have received a response. In a last-ditch effort to get Dr. Winders' office to help, I tried to schedule an appointment but was once again directed to Jose's voicemail, instructing me to leave a message with my request. Ultimately, I am left with no choice but to find a new cardiologist.

After my last tests in March 2022 a nurse left me a quick message with the test results. I would have liked a better explanation and a follow up visit to go into my condition but that didn't happen. It's been impossible to get into My Chart to check for more information if there was any. It's been frustrating trying to make an appointment. No one answers the phone, no one returns phone calls. And to top it all, the staff person finally gave me an appointment for the wrong day and didn't follow up with an email or text message to confirm the appointment date. I give up.

Dr Winders is knowledgable and informative, He is calm and patient. He instills confidence. My heart procedure went exceedingly well. He was respectful of the fact I don't really trust traditional medicines and worked with me to find a mutually acceptable plan. I highly recommend Dr Winders.
