Saved my life
I had an aneurysm of the aortic root at 5.2 CM. Having this been identified by an Atlantic Health Systems cardiologist, in my first and only meeting with Dr. Van Boxtel i knew he would be my guy for this procedure. The procedure went flawlessly spending only one night in the ICU before being moved to a private room at Morristown Medical Gagnon 5. The take away, I am based in northern NJ and of course weighing a major NYC hospital against the best NJ Hospital was a consideration. Bottom line is that the surgeon in this case was world class as was the facility for recovery.

Emergency surgery
I was minutes from leaving hospital but fortunately my ride was late. 8 days previous I had CABG surgery with Dr. Brown. My left chest suddenly started to expand. I needed emergency Surgery and Brown wasn’t available but Dr. Van Boxtel was and he advised me I was going to have emergency surgery. He operated on me to fix the problem. It was delicate and difficult and unfortunately I woke up during the surgery which I dare not describe But Dr. Van Boxtel did a great job and saved my life.

In august 2020 I had a mitrial valve surgery done my Dr. Van Boxtel. I had come into the er for a unaware of any prior knowledge of an valve issue. They took many tests and found I also needed surgery. He was very sweet, seemed a bit shy but reassuring and capable. Went throught with a successful mitrial valve replacement 7 months of recovery Im doing great. I am very happy we got through it. Thank to my surgeon
