Better off on your own
I was a patient of Dr Shain for a number of years when I was a child. In the meetings he spoke in a cold robotic manner and did not inform me of any side effect of the medication. I am still dealing with some side effects 5 years after stopping the medication. He also sent me to a psych ward after I said one time that I wished I was dead. I never felt like my opinion was valued or heard. Overall I think my mental health would be in a much better place if I had never seen this man.

He is an awful doctor who doesn’t care about the patient. The php program he runs is a disgrace. He shouldn’t be allowed to practice medicine.

As a patient, never have I ever experienced worse care than under Shain’s. Complete lack of communication and transparency to the point of negligence (I had requested information regarding the effects of the medications I was forced to take twice, receiving none in addition to being scoffed at a second time), making it clear how my medication was negatively affecting me (took count, mentioned a total of 14 times during my meetings with Dr. Shaun, not a single one was taken into account), lack of listening to his patients, as well as a massive, yet easily shattered ego (after being accused of “abusing” him for some not-kind words after two days of no communication/meetings that should occur on a daily basis according to the program I currently attend, in addition to having his RN answer my mother’s call despite attempting to arrange a time at which both could communicate, as she wanted to speak with Shaun directly). Overall, absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Shain’s care.

so vague, my appointments would literally be 30 seconds to 4 minutes long. Never took the time to explain ANYTHING! He got mad at me when I mentioned interest in stopping medication... he doesn't like it when his patients stop paying for his boat!
