Doesn’t really care
He did not care about me as a person at all! When I told him I needed him to be compassionate about my broken wrist treatment options, as I have a husband with Alzheimer’s, he said he just treats what he sees not who I am.

I came in with a broken finger and Dr. Rosenstadt sent me straight for an x-ray. When I asked the cost of an x-ray, nobody in the office could tell me. I waited for over an hour in the hallway until someone finally helped me out. The x-ray was cost prohibitive so I opted not to get one. Dr. Rosenstadt told me if I didn't get an x-ray there was nothing he could tell me about my finger. I was then charged $500 for the visit. After 1.5 years of attempting to dispute this, waiting endlessly for my calls to be returned and being passed between the billing department and the office, they sent me to a collections agency. Watch out for this office and make sure to ask for costs up front. Beware that if you show up and the doctor says there is nothing he can tell you, you'll still be charged in full for the visit.

He helped me with a trigger finger
I didn't have surgery, but I had a cortisone injection for a "trigger" thumb, which is a common problem. The doctor asked questions and listened to my concerns. An x-ray was done by the staff prior to the appointment. There was vey little wait time and he took my medicare plan.

Do not go to Rosenstadt or Mount Sinai. I received a 3-inch long splint for my finger. It was made with material that cost less than $1 dollar and took the doctor about 10 seconds to make (it was cut from a larger piece). I was then charged $270 for the splint; after insurance paid $67 for the splint, Mt. Sinai billed me an additional $41 for it. Repeated calls to billing and a letter to the doctor claiming that this charge was extraordinary, with requests for an explanation about why this item and service cost so much, ended up as a bill being sent to a collection agency because I refused to pay. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of by this doctor and Mt. Sinai. This is why healthcare is so expensive, folks.

I saw Dr. Rosenstadt for a second opinion about my injured left index finger. He was kind, polite and took the time to answer all my questions. Unlike the prior hand and wrist surgeon I had seen he did not brush me off because I was not a candidate for surgery worth "big money". Would definitely recommend him!

He tends to brush you off in the middle of your sentences. His more interested in logging in his computer than he is really listening and trying to be a physician. He has an ok demeanor but it's you don't feel as if he really cares all that much.

Waited two weeks for an appointment to be told they don't take my insurance. - Which I asked at the time I booked it, and after checking with my insurance company, and in the directory provided by my insurance company. - Went home, called insurance company again, Dr. is listed as joining as a provider 1/1/16. So on paper they take my insurance. But in person, they don't.
