Generally nice but a stickler
It seems like a common thing for UTSW doctors to be overly-cautious and slow to accepting any new medical advances. Nanes also only sticks to older medical treatments that have been tried and true but too nervous to try new treatments that have many promising studies.

Great derm!
Dr. Nanes was patient and thorough. Explained conditions well. I have Muir-Torre syndrome as well as a recent squamous cell carcinoma (treated prior to seeing him). He was very respectful and helped put me at ease. I was amazed how much he knew about my history when he walked in, clearly he had reviewed my chart quite thoroughly-- he said briefly. It just speaks volumes when there are a zillion things your new physician needs to know and you don't have to tell the long and complicated story!!
