Dr. Merritt delivered my two children between 2015-2018. During that time Dr. Merritt provided exceptional care for myself and my children. He was accessible, knowledgeable, and consistently engaged each visit and phone call. He genuinely cared when I developed gallbladder issues well AFTER I delivered with my first and was an advocate and guide for me when I was dealing with other physicians. With my second pregnancy I drove all the way from Pinehurst to Sanford to keep him as my OB!

When your pt, Dr Merritt, calls and tells you that they had to go to another hospital because their water broke early, how about you listen and don't fuss at them for not being in Sanford, and then get rude and hang up the phone on them when they ask for medical records. This baby, after emergency surgery, is now in a large area hospital in critical condition in the NICU. This review is in my name, and I'm telling you that I wouldn't send my annoying neighbors dog to to this clinic....Shameful!

I only saw Dr. Merritt a few times due to moving out of state, but he gives his patients his cell phone number and always either answers or calls back within minutes. He spent ample time with me ensuring that I didn't have any questions that went unanswered. I understand how some might be put off, as Dr. Merritt has an air about him that suggests he's always in a hurry, but I assure you - if you have questions, he will answer them fully and completely.

I think Dr. Merritt should not be in practice. His methods are horrible. He wanted to do surgery in his office instead of in the hospital. It was something that I would want to be put to sleep for, not just be numbed up in his office. I did not return to him.

I have very bad anxiety and with my first pregnancy it got even wores. This doctor really knew how to handle me, keeping me calm. He would spend as much time with me as much time with me as I wanted him to until I felt good about the situation. When it came time for delivery he really took charge and told me to knock it off and push, that may sound rude but it was what I needed to hear at that time. I'm now pregnant with baby too and very upset my husband got transferred to texas.
