Dr. Benjamin Dehner, MD

I have been going to Doctor Dehner for many years. He had to remove one of my kidneys because I had cancer. He is very kind and knowledgeable. He does test to make sure the cancer doesn’t come up somewhere else. I trust him. I have referred several people to him. He is The Best!!

This doctor and his staff will not return calls he spends 2 or 3 minutes with you gives you almost no info and says surgery is required no other options after I said i seek a second opinion he or his staff will return the calls or emails and you can’t get a straight answer from anyone in the office he has new offices so I guess he needs to pay for it somehow run away from him he has yet to address the reason for the visit to begin with I’ll never use Nashville urology or Dr Dehner for anything

DO NOT USE THIS DR.!!! He nearly killed me in Nov 2017(well technically he did..his negligence caused my heart to FLATLINE) I went in for prostate cancer for radical prostectamy. That part of surgery went fine but they didn't get catheter all the way into my bladder which caused me to start having cramps that night in my recovery room, because my bladder couldn't drain. The nurses called him and he directed them to try and flush my catheter as soon as they did I screamed stop that it was hurting and I saw my PRIVATE PART blowing up like a ballon, he instructed them to try again and they did while I was screaming y'all are killing me, they followed orders and did it again. My sister was in my room witnessing this holding my hands as I was screaming STOP! Finally they stopped the torture of my PRIVATE PARTS and said the Dr would see me in the morning,(I'm sorry read whole review on Google reviews) I FLATLINED due to his negligence! trust me read rest of story! Don't use this Dr!God Bless

Dr. Dehner has treated both myself and my elderly father. In both instances, the experience I had with his level or care, follow-up and attention to detail was superb. He actually spent the time to learn about the myriad of issues my father was facing to ensure that his treatment plan wasn't going to negatively impact some other area of his health. Couldn't recommend Dr. Dehner and his staff more!

I’ve worked professionally with Dr. Dehner for over 10 years in the operating room. He has a level of professionalism and compassion that’s missing in many surgeons. When my dad and brother needed a urologist, there’s was never a question in my mind who they should see. I've been doing Dr Benjamin Dehaner since 2011. He is treating my prostate cancer till this present day he has monitored over the years. However Dr Benjamin dehaner did not do the surgery in the removal of the prostate gland due to complications from the previous doctor urologist surgery. Following the prostate removal in 2011 another urologists. Dr Benjamin Dehaner has kept me alive as a result of the prostate cancer returning three times after that surgery. Dr Benjamin Dehaner treated me relentlessly non-stop he never gave up on me I was 50 years old when I was hit with prostate cancer today I am 61 a living testimony that Dr Benjamin Dehaner cares about his patients, if you just stick with him and be forthcoming with the truth let him know what's going on he will work with you. I am proud to have Dr Benjamin Dehaner as my urologist because if it wasn't from him I will probably not be given this testimony. Dr Benjamin Dehaner thank you for just caring about me.

Dr. Dehner is top notch. My husband suffered acute renal failure due to an unknown tumor during a serious case of Covid. Dr. Dehner gathered all essential data to determine approach. Surgery to remove tumor completed, prognosis outstanding. Dr. Dehner called to review the post operative surgery details and the good news. Sincere. Kind. Proficient. Highly skilled. A gem in the medical field. He’s a doctor who makes you feel safe. He answers all questions with respect and truly is a master of his craft. We feel so blessed to have had such amazing care at St. Thomas. The entire staff he is supported by is a testament of his character and skills as the chief urologist. Thank you!

My husband had an appt.to see Dr.Dehner. Copays are collected up front and now I can understand why. He was in room for over 2 hrs! Dr. seen him but left him with the understanding someone would be in to administer an injection. No one came! After 2+ hrs.he left. I would not and will not recommend him to anyone!! I may never get my husband to a Dr. For anything again! Thanks alot!!

Dr Dehner performed a Urolift procedure on my prostate and I could not have asked for a better experience. A month later I had another procedure and the anesthesia temporarily affected my bladder. Even though Dr Dehner did not perform the second procedure he was very compassionate, more compassionate than the general surgeon performing the procedure. He stated he did not want me to feel like I was out there alone. I highly recommend Dr Dehner and his staff.

Dr. Dehner performed percutaneous nephrolithotomy procedures on me. He is an excellent Physician. He provided me details about my treatment and continued follow-up care . I highly recommend Dr. Dehner, especially after having a terrible experience with a different surgeon, from another agency. Dr. Dehner is very courteous and professional.

Dr Dehner himself is okay, but beware that the practice he is in uses an outside company to fill out FMLA papers and the charge $30.00. And they will not send the forms until payment is received. My initial contact with Dr Dehner was through a hospital visit, and my initial impression of him was better there than with the two surgeries and follow-up office visit. The whole billing situation (Lab results cost out of network, FMLA, and payment upfront) just kind of tarnishes the experience.

My initial consult with Dr Dehner was excellent. He was detailed in his explanation of my prostate procedure. I had never been to a Dr that took that much time with me. I did come up with questions after my consult, which his nurse was willing to answer for me. The procedure went very well, relatively no pain afterwards. Highly recommend Dr Dehner and his staff.

Dr. Dehner is an outstanding Doctor who has great Dr. patient relationship.

Dr. Dehner has performed 20 surgeries on me. 1 being a PCNL. The PCNL he completed on me was the best one I had ever had. I had had the same procedure performed 3 times prior by another doctor in the same clinic. With Dehner, I had a quicker recovery time, passed less stones, and had less pain. There have been times I have had emergencies and he schedule me for a surgery the next day/bump me ahead I love his nurse too. She's nice and not rude. I would recommend him to anyone needing a urologist

Dr. Dehner has done 4 robotic kidney surgeries on me to remove multiple cyst. He has been so amazing and a true blessing in my life and I can never repay him. He is a wonderful sweet loving doctor who actually takes time out of his day to call me with any results, which any doctor I've had don't do. He has also done other surgeries on me and everything was a success! I would and have recommended other patients to him. Thank you for all you have done to make my life better.
