Dr. Basant Nassar, MD

Dr. Nassar is the first doctor to ever really explain medications to me and go into detail about how they could help me based on the medications' drug class. She also elaborates on the specific differences between similar medications and the effect they are intended to have. This seems like something every doctor should do, but many don't. I used to always feel like I was aimlessly and blindly trying new medications. Dr Nassar is the first doctor to offer me such valuable insight. She is patient, understanding, and very informative, and I have never had any issues scheduling an appointment to see her. Dr Nassar has really made a difference in my life. 5/5 stars for sure.

Dr. Nassar is not adequately equipped to be a licensed psychiatrist. Specifically she is simply incapable and unwilling to evaluate, diagnose, or treat mental health disorders. She will accept new patients who have provided medical history and expressed their needed services for which she has no intention to treat or provide consultation for. She will not acknowledge this at any point in your session, and will evade any explicit statement of a plan of care or potential options available and will try and end the session even while you try to get clarity on what her vague, meaningless medical observations actually mean. If you are seeking a psychiatrist who will provide support, manage medications, explore alternative diagnoses or treatments, and empathize with your health condition (the fundamental role of a psychiatrist) she is simply not equipped for this, and is frankly indifferent to the harm caused by delaying care and disregarding your health concerns.
