Dr Singer was very informative and compassionate when he first started treating my wife who has MS. The past year has been very disappointing. He cancels appointments last minute. Also has not returned phone calls. We will be looking for a new Doctor.

Unsatisfied
I been a patient with Dr Singer for over 20 years. When I first started seeing him he was my miracle doctor but when I knew I had a TIA in the hospital with all the side effects and they all went away quickly I just had lingering losses from what had happened to me like memory loss and my balance was and maybe some weakness I think it was more related to balance. I was going to see another neurologist for a second opinion. He insisted on seeing me. Mind you he had no openings for the rest of the year to see me. Cause I wanted to see him to talk to him about this. His secretary was so mean and rude to me at first. Then when he wanted to see me. They were willing to help me nicely.. I saw me. We went over it. He told me what I wanted to hear it was a stroke. However I read his clinical notes it said I had a hemisphere that cause all those symptoms and that was a complete lie. I didn’t have a hemisphere. He never told me I had that he just decided on his own that he was going to put it in

Best MS Dr.
On my first visit he set me up with Mark Cuban to cover my medication! He also got me a much needed AFO that has helped tremendously! I’ve had had MS for 32 years and haves numerous doctors that didn’t offer any help. I’m so thankful for Dr. Singer!

Amazing on so many levels
I have recently become a patient of Dr. Singers after having another neurologist in his practice for many years. What I love about Dr. Singer, he was able to see my history through a new lens and has been beyond thorough with my many neurological issues. When I am dealing with extreme migraine pain, I called the triage nurse and received a phone call back from Dr. Singer personally on a Friday late afternoon to make sure I would get what I need to have some relief. Dr. Singer has a wonderful bedside manner and a great personality. He listens to his patients, and makes sure he uses his expertise to help each patient on an individual basis. Dr. Singer also took on a large number of new patients in the last year when his counterpart left the office and treats us as if we have been his patients/family for years. My dear friend who has MS also is treated by Dr. Singer and thinks he is the best. She hangs his business card on her bulletin board at the school we work at. Thank you Dr. Singer.

I recommend Dr. Singer to everyone with MS
Prior to seeing Dr. Singer, I saw a different neurologist who I was very unhappy with. The fact she is no longer practicing says it all. From the very first visit with Dr. Singer, he made me feel like a person and not an appointment. He has never rushed through any appointment. He is always extremely thorough with each visit, he listens to me and allows me to express my concerns without any judgement. He explains my MRI's and all of my test results with me. When he discussed medications with me, he gave me the option to choose which was best for me and explained why. I have been seeing him now for 5 years. My insurance was out of network for him, but to me, it didn't matter. I was more than willing to pay out of pocket for office visits because I trust him so much. His nurses are always extremely quick to answer messages and return phone calls.

Relocated from out of state and was seeing one of Dr Singer’s most esteemed colleagues whom he trusts extensively ( his words) who diagnosed me with MS several years ago. First visit with Dr Singer left me extremely frustrated. He did not agree with medications that were previously prescribed, meds I have been on for years, meds that have helped control my symptoms (NONE OF WHICH ARE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES OR FOR PAIN...no narcotics I am disabled from this condition and I need a doctor who is compassionate and not one who tries to undo everything other specialists have done, all in the first visit. I don’t need to come to a new doctor to get put through the entire gambit of tests when I already have a diagnosis that, although not desirable, I have learned to live with and have come to terms with it. Dr Singer, you need to do better you need to work on your delivery and not try to outwit or overrule “esteemed” colleagues whom are also on the list of top neurologists in the country

I moved to Dr. Singer following multiple doctor changes at MS Clinic at Washington U. Dr. Singer is very nice, takes time to go through history and learn about you as his patient. He is very knowledgeable and helpful when you express concerns. MS is hard because everyone is different. Office is in great location, easy to get in and out of. Staff is hired by hospital but I have had no negative experiences. Sometimes hard to get through phones but portal makes easy bypassing the office staff direct to nurse or doctor himself. I’ve seen NP also and she is great! I see him after I get infusions same day next door, makes my trip very convenient.

Barry Singer MD is an exceptional Neurologist. He is professional, extremely intelligent, caring. His diagnostic abilities are outstanding. His explanations to any questions are shared in a manner that is easily understood. He does not rush through his appointment with me. He has phoned me at home several times to share and explain tests results. He greets me with a smile upon entering the exam room which is most reassuring and addresses me by my name. Dr. Singer is very easy to establish rapport and I trust his judgement 100 percent. Most of his staff is friendly and helpful, however, at times especially on the phone, some seem hurried and not willing to take the time to listen to my needs, their answers can be harsh, rude and it comes across as not caring . Answers seem mechanically and either are unable or not allowed to reach a solution. His NP, RN and Assistants are very nice and competent. The entire office is clean and inviting.

I really like Dr. Singer a great deal! That being said, the appt department is lacking badly. You can call a million times and never get through, you can leave voice mails, and never get a call back! But you can use my chart and get a cold response! I had an appt for Oct 2019, his staff called said he would be out of the office so I needed to redo appt. We tried a million times to call, left voice messages, never got a responce! Only after I emailed them on my chart did I get a non pleasent response. I tried to get my appt rescheduled for any Friday in Sept or oct. I was coldly informed he had nothing on a friday for Sept or oct. I explained i can't drive and the only day I have a driver is on fridays, and he schedules me to see him only every 6 months. I also explained that if they had looked at my past appts they would have seen i only come on fridays, and they could have redone appt for another fri before all appts were booked. They didn't do that.

I have been happy with Dr Singer up til now , and I have been seeing him for the last 3 or 4 years, but since Heather left my appointments keep getting rescheduled and tests don’t get scheduled unless I remind them, I actually and to get my brain MRI thru my primary care doc because his office never got around to scheduling it!! And forget about getting through On their phone system, and it takes them awhile to get back to you.

The most amazing doctor I have ever had. He solved all of my MS issues. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Barry Singer. As far as I am concerned, he has been my angel. When I talk with other people I know who are seeing him, I hear the same things. They all say things like "how glad they are to be a patient of his, and great he is as a MS doctor." I have had different doctors for my MS issues, and he is by far the best.

I love Dr. Singer and his staff; however, trying to schedule/change an appointment is extremely frustrating. Almost to the point of just giving up. My 6 month checkup in May was rescheduled by your office; the new appt in June was rescheduled by your office because Dr. Singer was not available, new July appt with NP cancelled because she was not available. I went into hospital with exacerbation July 4 and have been trying to get a followup appt. It's very frustrating.

I have been a patient of Dr. Singer's since March of 2004. He diagnosed my MS right away after I had already seen two other neurologists who were clueless. He has been patient, loving, kind, understanding and very informative all along the way through this journey. I can't imagine what it would be like going through life with this incredibly annoying thing called MS without Dr. Singer. I pray to God that I never have to find out. He's the absolute BEST! A true blessing in my life.

Dr. Singer is a wonderful physician... he's on the leading edge of MS care, and is focused on ensuring his patients' lives are better with the treatments he prescribes. I would give him five stars, but his office staff, with the exception of Danielle, is difficult to deal with. One staff member told me specifically to never use the portal to communicate with the office as "they don't check that." This is after they promoted it when I began seeing Dr. Singer as a great way to contact them.
