Dr. Kimmel meets minimum standards for simple care
During one visit Dr. Kimmel was giving us the results of a different patient's imaging . Saw him right after urgent care visit for follow up and he asked why we were seeing him earlier than previously scheduled appointment despite sending him 3 emails before, during and after urgent care visit. His Westmed profile says he 'has a special interest in endourology' implying that he has expertise and experience in this area. Part of the problem with Dr. Kimmel is that he does not know when he is in over his head, does not referred to other MDs and Westmed has no clinical oversight. Despite recurrent post operative complications, he refused a referral to a specialist and finally, primary had to initiate the referral. He seems at times to be skatter brained and cannot focus. He does not follow thru, communicate with referring MDs from within Westmed or answer email. Unfortunately, he takes short cuts like browsing quickly through test results just looking for the bottom line not for details.

My husband had a serious operation on his colon and dr Kimmel was also involved to mend his bladder at the same time. The two drs saved him. We didn’t have insurance that he took, but his office set up a very fair payment plan and were very understanding. And before that, I had been a patient for kidney stones and he spent plenty of time with me, explaining my options and even drew pictures for me of exactly where the stones were in my kidney.

While Dr Kimmel is skilled he is terrible with follow up, suppling test results and has no compassion for his patients time parameters. By waiting days n weeks to return results n calls it leaves the patient in distress on many levels.

Doctor Kimmel's bedside manner is horrible. I don't know why but it seemed I was the scum of the earth to him because I was poor and didn't have insurance. He did an exploratory surgery on me to try to determine why I was getting recurring uti's and kidney stones. While inside me he discovered the problem and told me after the surgery that he could have fixed it with a shot of cologen that cost less then 1$, but that I had no insurance so he didn't give me the shot.

3 years ago I met Dr Kimmel while in the hospital for kidney stones. I explain to him that I could not afford anything my insurance didn't cover. He said no problem and scheduled a surgery. He said to call his office in 2 weeks to schedule an appointment to have the stent removed. When I did they refuse to take my insurance. It took me three months to find another doctor to have the stent removed. Now his office is suing me for the original surgery. Greedy uncaring doctor.

My experience with Dr. Kimmel has been wonderful. He recognized my problem and took care of it. The staff at his Cape May Court House office has been wonderful, and I am taken in due time. The office in Linwood has helped when is came to scheduling and confirming appointment. Dr. Kimmel made sure that my family was contacted and given an explanation to how things went in surgery, and how I was doing. I would highly recommend Dr. Kimmel.
