Dr. Barry Kaplan, MD

A true DaVinci. I had a cervical discectomy with fusion for C5,C6 and C7. He did an excellent job and the surgery has increased my quality of life greatly. I am very impressed with his quality of care and skill set. My expectations have been exceeded

My husband had surgery to remove a tumor on his spine and Dr. Kaplan was an absolute Godsend. He is comforting, extremely knowledgeable, caring, thoughtful and thorough. For him to be practicing in Hickory, NC now is amazing!

I had spinal fusion at C56 and C6/7 in 1999 I followed all of his pre and post op instructions. I have full function and am thankfully pain free ever since. Thank you.

Had lamenectomy not good

Dr. Kaplan performed a spinal fusion on me in 2014 and I was virtually pain free for the first time in 40 years when I woke from the operation and have continued to be pain free to today. I have recommended him many times since my operation and all have successful outcomes as well.

He restored my ability to walk upright without severe sciatic pain. I went back to a normal life including golf and swimming. It was 14 years ago. He did spine repair on my late wife 20 years ago that was 100% successful. He was very thorough and informative and pleasant to talk to.

Dr. Kaplan is very personable And I think he is a very capable surgeon. I am still in the recovery stage and in quite a bit of pain. I see him , or the Dr who is replacing him, this Thursday. I hope they have some advice about the pain and how to control it. Would definitely recommend Dr Kaplan

Dr. Kaplan is thorough and conservative with the treatments he suggests. I like that about him. He’s always been professional yet friendly when he explained my issues. I’m glad I was referred to him.

Used Dr Kaplan about 4 years ago after seeing seeing a number of other health care providers. MRI's revealed considerable lower spine damage & surgery was the only recommended option. The whole process, from my initial contact with his office, thru surgery & follow-up was excellent. I'd recommend Dr Kaplan to anyone who is experiencing back pain to get his recommendations to resolve the patient's issues.

I have been sick for over 2 years, unable to do anything and can’t drive. I have seen over 10 Neurologist, all of them were rude and talked down to me. They have no clue what’s wrong with me and just wanted to put me on Meds.. All 8 of the Meds gave me side effects and didn’t help me. Dr.kaplan was so nice from the moment he walked in the room. He is very caring & said he was sorry he couldn’t help me, but he did tell me what to have done and who & where I need to go get help.

Dr.Kaplan- He is the only one I would let touch my neck-I have had 3 neck surgeries by him,and he’s always been the same, polite, caring and very professional as well as all the staff there.The Dr is unbelievably talented in his profession and would recommend him to anyone for neck and spine problems. ?? I am 84 years old, and unfortunately have visited, I'd estimate, hundreds of doctor's offices. Dr. Kaplan's staff and nurses were way above good. Everything ran so smoothly; their friendliness and efficiency was something to behold. My back operation went exactly Dr. Kaplan had told me it would, that surgery was five weeks ago, and I am doing great. I had heard of so many back surgeries that didn't go as planned, that I was more than a little apprehensive. I now say, why did I wait so long?

DR Kaplan is extremely personable and provides detailed information about your condition with a full analysis of the procedures he would recommend to correct your problem. He and his entire staff are available to you when you need them.

My experience with Dr. Kaplan's office was absolutely outstanding. The staff were extremely professional and accommodating. The office was as clean as any medical office I have ever visited. I wish I had seen Dr. Kaplan years ago.

Dr. Kaplan is an outstanding Neurosurgeon. He was very patient with all my questions prior to my back surgery and his post-op care has been great. He is supported by an outstanding staff. Ashley, Julie, Jackie just to name a few. Everyone is very helpful and supportive and always promptly returns calls. You cannot get better Neurosurgery care anywhere. I wish there was a 10 Star rating!

Very professional and courteous Doctor and staff. Dr Kaplan is very experienced in his field, and while talking with him this is apparent. He takes time to explain the problem and what he can do to try to fix same. Overall, great guy, great staff.
