I had breast cancer twice the first time at age 32-which one can imagine, was terrifying. I had a nipple saving double mastectomy with Dr Smith. And then, after 12 years, when I discovered that I was the unlikely 2% with a breast cancer reoccurrence, I underwent a lumpectomy with her. There is no one else I would have trusted to do the surgery and know exactly the right course of treatment. Not only is she amazing at her craft and knowledgeable on all the latest treatments, she has gone to bat for me with other doctors including those with bad bed side manners (“don’t treat my patients like that”). This women even made sure I had a warm blanket right before my last surgery with her-something doctors don’t usually notice! She is an amazing cancer surgeon and I would travel from just about anywhere to see her if needed.

Dr. Smith is a fabulous surgeon . I came from Michigan to have my double mastectomy surgery done by her and made the perfect decision. She is also surrounded by a very efficient staff. I had the best care one can possibly have by her at Mass General Hospital.

Takes her time to explain everything in detail. Never felt rushed. Very warm personality and bed side manner.

Breast Cancer in 2013 at 39. From the very first meeting, I Loved Loved Loved this woman 3 Brillant doctor!!! Top Notch!! Down to earth, straight forward and really cares about her patients. Can't say enough... Regardless of the 5 hours from my hometown, I am so happy that I was referred to her and that she took my case. I loved the office staff back then but it has changed a few times in the last few years. For whatever reason response time isn't as quick now but still friendly and courteous.
