He saved my life
Dr. Osuntokun saved my life.I had a brain surgery at age 13 to remove a brain tumor from my right temporal lobe. Part of that tumor was on my brain stem. My surgeon attempted to remove the portion on my brain stem and I crashed. I woke up from surgery with a myriad of health problems I'd never experienced before that surgery.I couldn't tolerate anything by mouth. My doctors told me I had an eating disorder and that my symptoms were in my head. Four years went by. I lived off TPN and sometime j-tube feedings. My cardiologist, the only doctor who believed me, referred me to Dr. Osuntokun. Dr. Osuntokun did a manometry on me. I will always remember him walking into my hospital room to give me the results. He told me my stomach and colon were paralyzed. He told me I wasn't crazy.Fast forward to now: my colon was removed and I have a gastric stimulator. Thanks to Dr. Osuntokun, I can eat now. I know I'm not crazy. I don't have an eating disorder.

He seemed great at first, and I imagine if he can figure out what is wrong, he remains being a good doctor. But, for us, he couldn't, and instead of simply saying that, it turned into him saying nothing was physically wrong with our daughter, despite strong evidence to the contrary. Oddly, we never even got to explain what was going on, and he never even talked to her, so when he ended up claiming it was an eating disorder and that she needed a feeding clinic & counseling for it, it felt completely out of the blue and didn't fit, at all, what was going on. I do regret the time we spent with him, as it held us back on making progress and helping my daughter. We have since moved on, and she has been diagnosed with esophageal dysmotility. The next steps are to check the motility of her stomach and intestines. They have also tested her gut microbiome and discovered hers is extremely messed up, which is something he never looked into. I would recommend him to no one.

This provider lacks compassion for his patients and their families. He is judgmental, rude, disrespectful and refuses to listen to parents and patients. He makes assumptions that he absolutely refuses to consider could be incorrect. He places very little importance on his patients quality of life. Every other Cooks Provider I have met has been great.

Dr. Osuntokun is kind, compassionate and very intelligent. Our son has a very rare genetic disorder. When treatment wasn’t helping and Dr. Osuntokun was stumped, he admitted he needed help and sent us to a colleague in Cincinnati. It took 3 different hospitals before we isolated the gene causing the issue. I really appreciate a doctor who is humble enough to admit when he needs help. He is now able to perform the care that both my son and daughter need expertly. His staff are wonderful and compassionate as well.

Dr. Oshuntokun saw my daughter for 7 years without diagnosis. Many tests, daily nexium, but no diagnosis. My adult GI diagnosed me with Celiac disease within 2 sessions, and when I described the treatment my daughter had gotten for the last 7 years, he was shocked. Daily RX and removing polyps should not be a regular course of treatment for a child. His staff is terrible. Wont return phone calls, wont share test results, lost test results, etc. Not good.

I have used dr Osuntokun for my son on and off since he was 5 months old we committed to using him exclusively at 1 yr. he is by far the worst of all my sons specialty doctors. I loved him at first and after time found he does not listen to parents nor take there concerns seriously. His staff does not call you back and are unconcerned as well! He had me take my son to the hospital to admit him and after 36 hours of nothing we had to beg for him to come and tell us why we were there! He's awful!

I have been his patient for 10 years, I have pseudo obstruction and chron's. He has been my life saver. He knows what he is doing and prescribes medicines that will help. I always get an appointment when I need one and he will take your ideas and mental needs into consideration when making his medical decisions. He truly cares about his patients and I trust him with my life.
