I have degenerative disc disease.
Dr. Haque explained everything about my discectomy with fusion of my C3-4. I was terrified going into the appointment and came out very knowledgeable and confident. My surgery was scheduled quickly and I felt like I had the tools to recover. I was back to work in 6 weeks. Just to be clear, I am on year 8 post surgery! I live in NM now and I would travel to him for any of my neurosurgery needs. I feel that confident. It is really hard getting into a Dr. here in NM. I just gave a referral to a coworker. Her boyfriend has been suffering for far too long. There are no doctors to see him here. I would travel to Dr. Haque even if there were plenty of Drs. to see me in NM. He is that good.

Chiari is for Life. Promise to cure me
Chiari malformation, decompression surgeries can only relieve symptoms, and its not guaranteed. He was my 2nd opinion. We clicked. 2week after symptoms started to come back with a vivance. He didn't care. He would make threats about Having to do an extensive painfull nerve studies (that I did), and surgeries with extensive hospital care afterwards. I wouldn't want that being a single mother. He just didn't have the knowledge. I never receive PT or after care cognitive check ups. Didnt know whay my CFS flow was at, or that i had Vitamin Deficiencies. He never look or tested. He did up and leave his office. About 7-8 months after my surgery. I couldn't find him till now.His office was over off Rosedale by the Baylor Hospital on 8th Ave. Of course I'm sill on my journey of living a Chiari life. But he taught me alot. I can research my condition all day and lean alot. Doctor have to keep up with ALL the medical conditions. But we have to stop suffering in silence.

Good doctor with little interest in patient
I went with a family member to several office visits and later when she had spinal surgery. Dr Haque seemed to be a good surgeon but didn’t care about the patient after surgery. He wouldn’t even prescribe pain meds when leaving the hospital; he said it was her responsibility to get another doctor to prescribe. No follow up requested and no interest.

Excellent doctor and staff
Dr. Haque performed surgery on my C3 and C4. He was very thorough and explained every step of the process. Always aske if I had any questions and made time to make sure I understood what was going on. His staff is very professional and polite. I would recommend Dr. Atif Haque to anyone who needs a Neurosurgeon.

Dr. Haque is courteous and respectful and was very good in explaining my injury and the surgery involved in correcting my situation. Was the first time for surgery and was very dubious about it. Was a good experience and everything went well. Thank you Dr. Haque.

Dr.Haque did two back surgeries for me . First lower back where he removed some vertabry and replaced them with cadaver bones. took about a year till i was good as new. Then he did the same thing with my neck. He put cages around both. My neck is still sore but its getting better every day. My opinion i would never go to any other doctor for spine issues.

Three years ago my vision was drastically changed by a tumor growing on my pituitary glad. It was lifting my optical nerve out their cross over (chasm). Dr. Atif Haque removed the tumor allowing my optical nerve to drop back into the chasm. This procedure was difficult and risky, but it corrected my vision. I could be blind today if it weren't for Dr. Haque's actions. He has monitored my situation over the last three years to ensure no further growth or action needs to be done. Thank you Dr. Haque from my family and I for a job WELL DONE!!

In the initial consultation appointment with Dr Haque, he thoroughly explained the options available, and listed the pros and cons of each, to help resolve my back issues. Ultimately, he left the decision to my husband and me. He was professional but concerned, and was very thorough in showing us the mri results, and fully explaining what would be required in the surgery to achieve positive optimal results, as well as what to expect in the recovery and rehabilitation period. He scheduled multiple follow up appointments to ensure healing was on track. He always took the time to answer any questions that we had. At my final appointment, he didn’t just dismiss me, but assured me that they were available if I needed his office for any reason. I don’t want to go through that again, but Dr Hague is definitely the surgeon I would choose.
