Dr. Ateet Shah, MD

You have found the most qualified, advanced knowledgeable Dr. that I am confident could compete with any surgeon in the country. Dr. Shah saved my daughters life from colon cancer. Dr. Shah is thorough and pretty sure a type A personality. Dr. Shah would call us personally on the phone even on a Sunday to give test results the same day he received them. Dr. Shah cut a softball size tumor out of my daughter’s colon and reattached it in roughly 55 minutes and she healed beautifully in 6 weeks. There was no sign that part of her colon had been removed and no colonoscopy bag was ever needed. Dr. Shah swiped the lymph nodes around the tumor during surgery and tested them against the tumor and nothing had spread. This Dr. is a caring Dr. and a straight shooter that gave total peace of mind and answers all questions and keeps in constant contact. My daughter is cancer free and no chemo was needed from a very advanced technique surgery that Dr. Shah gave. You don’t want anyone else.

Dr. Ateet Shaw was not concerned about my Colovesical fistula. Even though I told him I’m having pain in my bladder from fecal matter entering in my bladder. He said I shouldn’t be having pain. He basically told me to go get weight loss surgery before I can get surgery to remove the fistula and part for my colon. Like a weight loss specialist is going to do surgery on me with this issue going on. I was not at least impressed with him.

I never met Dr. Shah so I feel conflicted about leaving a negative review but my experience was extremely frustrating. I had an appointment and needed to wait about 7 weeks to be seen. His nurse/receptionist instructed me to perform an enima before arriving (no fun but understandable). I arrived five minutes early but the receptionist insisted I was 15 minutes late (I was not). She repeated that Dr. Shah has a policy that patients arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to be rescheduled and Dr. Shah would not see me. There was no confirmation (either electronic or snail mail) so I had nothing to show but my calendar appointment created months ago. The receptionist was happy to offer another appointment 7 weeks later, no thanks! I ended up finding an excellect physician that got me in a bit sooner and was even able to perform a check w/out an enima. I'd guess Dr. Shah is an excellent physician but I strongly reccomend ensuring you have a confirmation for all appointments.

Dr. Shah is a very skilled surgeon. He is knowledgeable and is a good listener.

I was sent to Dr. Shah as a follow-up to a hospital visit for a colon infection. He was a random choice and I did not know him. I am 81 years old but have had spastic colon issues all of my life. I am well informed about such issues after having dealt with doctors for over 50 years from coast to coast during my career. Dr. Shah treated me like I was either a child or had dementia. It was very humiliating and I did not want to go further with an examination. Reluctantly, I did, and then I left without further discussion. He was rude, cold and condescending.

All the staff are personable and make you feel like you are their only patient. Dr Shah is the bomb. He seems quiet and reserved but really cares.
