Misdiagnosed me!
Watch out, De Zahir missed diagnosed my condition. I was so happy to have a 2nd opinion at one of the universities and review of my tests showed a different diagnosis for which I am not treated for! Be careful!

Favorite doctor
I never feel rushed, always cared about. Dr. Zahir is very knowledgeable explains things thoroughly. He truly cares about each and every patient. He is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and listens to his patients. If one thing doesn't work he'll try another. He's like an encyclopedia - has a vast knowledge of available treatments. Also is an excellent teacher. New students to medicine can benefit greatly and learn from Dr. Zahir by paying attention to him. I'm lucky to have been referred to him 12 yrs ago - I'm still standing! His staff is also kind and compassionate; very knowledgeable as well.

Unfortunately, the appointment was very rushed. When a patient comes into your office with a possible diagnosis of cancer, they wish to have further discussion about a plan of care. He came in, asked us to proceed with a biopsy and at check out we got phone numbers to schedule procedures. We definitely proceeded with a 2nd opinion and we re happy that we did.

I've been seeing Dr. Zahir for over a year and have had only positive experiences with his expertise, compassion, patience and ability to communicate complex medical information. When he makes rounds during our chemo appointments, he is always cheerful, attentive and willing to answer my seemingly endless questions. I particularly appreciate his versatility in adapting to each patient's individual level of "need to know," which in my case, is almost everything. I hate having Stage 4 metastatic cancer, but I love my good fortune in being treated by Dr. Zahir.

It's rare to find an oncologist who, almost every day, visits the room where his patients are getting chemo. When members of our family have accompanied my mom to her infusions, Dr. Zahir has been available to answer our questions in person. He shows my mom her blood counts when they come back (weekly), discussing the results and any updates in her treatment plan. Each week he listens to her lungs and heart, while asking about our family and how Mom is feeling in general. We can count on Dr. Zah

I have always been able to talk to the doctor and get my problems resolved.I had even got the contact number of the doctor and was very helpfull all the times. Coming here is like dealing with trusted family. Would not consider changing doctors.

I've been under Dr.Zahir's care for under a year now. He is absolutely wonderful. Not only has he been consistent in his care towards my health, but also does so with compassion. He is great at what he does and I definetly recommend him to anyone who is need of an oncologist/hematologist.
