Excessive Scaring
I had a small spot of cancer on left temple to have surgery on, it was less than the size of a pea. Dr Sullivan circled the area with a black marker to be removed. After one mohs layering it was determined to be non cancerous. When it was all said and done I ended up with a three quarter inch terrible scare on my face that was no where near the area circled with the marker. Dr Sullivan was quick to use the scalpel and my face reflects the damage. I was scheduled for another procedure the next week on another spot that I canceled and I will just have to live with because I will not let her cut on me again.. Yeah and they make you sign a paper pre op that makes you're aware there will be scaring but nothing like I ended up with...

I'm sure Dr. Sullivan is a competent Mohs surgeon, and has skilled staff as well. Dr. Sullivan was very efficient, and regardless of my concerns post op about infection around the incision/stiches (first at 5 days post op and again on the 7th day when stiches were removed), she assured me it wasn't infected. Well it was infected, confirmed by my PC, after she swabbed a culture and then gave me a script for antibiotics. When a physician finishes the last appointment (1 week post op, stiches removed), you're released, and she's no longer responsible. Now that's efficient, get them in/out, ignore that infection, and get paid. "what infection? I don't see any infection?"

I had much trepidation regarding my MOHS procedure. Dr. Sullivan was very reassuring from the start of my visit. She explained the entire procedure in detail from start to finish with great acuity.

Dr. Sullivan is an excellent MOHS surgeon. I have had two cancers removed by her. The first was on my face a year ago, and there is not a trace of a scar. I have returned to her for my second surgery on my leg. She will always be my MOHS physician of choice! - D. McPhee, Richmond, VA

Very poor Mohs Surgery skills. Dr. Sullivan resorts quickly to the scalpel to make deep incisions. Using the Mohs technique of carefully shaving layers of skin until the cancer is no longer detected is not in her repertoire. The result is scarring and disfigurement.
