3 Visits with Injections - Time to Move On
I've been receiving injections related to cervical dystonia for 6 years and recently started seeing Dr. Rawls. She doesn't seem comfortable doing these in my opinion. On my second injection set, she had forgotten that she had given me shots 3 months earlier... which meant she didn't read my chart before entering the room. My previous Doctor had a very precise method giving injections and mapped them out on a piece of paper explaining them to me. Dr. Rawls only injected in a fraction of those areas, seemed to take an approach that would be found in a starter dystonia 'how to' textbook and explained nothing. I hope she learns the trade over time, but there's no reason to not be familiar with my chart before entering that room. She's a bit robotic with her interactions - not personable.

Excellent Neurologist
My husband saw Dr. Raul's for his severe tremor. He has never had a more thorough exam. Dr. Raul's spent 2 hrs with us assessing and explaining the condition and all available treatments. She answered all our questions and at no time did she seem rushed. She was kind and empathetic as well. Her knowledge of his condition was amazing. We are grateful to have met with her and look forward to the next step. The staff at UF Health Movement Disorders could not have been more professional, helpful, welcoming and just plain nice. It is an awesome place.

Very condescending and not helpful. Does not answer questions well and is borderline rude. This visit was an utter waste of my time and apparently hers. Patients"faking" and "mental health" issues appears to be her go to.

Dr Rawls needs to return to school and take a course on bedside manners. I believe it falls under basic human decency but I truly believe Rawls lacks. She was assigned to my wife’s case and saw her Wednesday at 5pm for 10 minutes, took a video and did an exam. Said she’d be back after the EMG and that was conducted the next morning. No Rawls. Asked at 1400 and her resident showed at 5 pm 24 hours later and said she’d be right there. No Rawls. She finally showed Friday at 1030 AM after I had already complained to patient advocates. She dismissed my wife, dismissed her symptoms, and finalized it with saying my wife is faking. My wife has had 3 cervical neck surgeries and is in complete spasms on her shoulder causing pain I can’t even imagine. Last a week now. Dr Rawls said my wife is just stressed out. If you want to live stay away from Rawls and UF Shands Neurology.
