Emotionally and verbally abusive. She makes threats and caused me trauma. All of the other 1 star reviews are completely accurate in terms of the doctor she is. I am shocked that Mcclean has not fired her or that there haven’t been other lawsuits against her.

Dr. Parekh is a horrible excuse for a physician. Disrespectful, dehumanizing, and frankly irresponsible when it comes to patient care. She spent max ~3min/day with me while I was hospitalized, barely got to know me at all, and then made a diagnosis that most clinicians don’t feel comfortable making unless the patient undergoes extensive evaluations. I didn’t agree with the diagnosis but was ignored, as I was “just" a psych patient (I am an Ivy League-educated medical student). I was also told not to have high hopes for my new meds as they “probably wouldn’t do much” for me- this is after all other treatments had failed me & I had no other options. After being discharged, I went to a residential program where I was given a thorough evaluation over an extended amount of time, which ultimately concluded that her diagnosis was wildly incorrect. I will never forgive Dr. Parekh for her cruelty, mistreatment, and lack of empathy. She is truly what is wrong with medicine today.

Dr. Parekh is a consummate professional and a top notch practitioner. She is clearly a high quality doctor and professional. Her care for my troubled teenager was outstanding....thoughtful, compassionate, smart. It was a sometimes difficult journey, but these things always are. Dr. Parekh knew exactly what she was doing and we all arrived at a better place. She is clearly an outstanding psychiatrist and psycho-pharmacologist. One wonders on some of the less than stellar comments here if psych patients become disillusioned if they are not given what they want or told what they want to hear. A lesser doctor may play to that, but not this one. I give doctor Parekh my highest recommendation.

7 days on the STU in 2014 with Dr. Parekh- She should get credit for being a competent psychopharmacologist, but no more. I was admitted for severe anxiety, depression, insomnia which were precipitated by a traumatic event. I left the unit able to sleep again and w/ some improvement with other symptoms. Despite the mostly positive outcome, I've struggled with how poorly she seemed to interact with patients. She could really benefit from being more compassionate. Other STU staff were wonderful.
