Dr Smith's office would not release technical information to the surgeon wanting to do carpal tunnel surgery. So now after requesting info 6 times I have to have a painful test done over due to their refusal to release results and I signed a release form.

I think Dr. Smith is wanting to retire soon. He was good for tests and a diagnosis, but I think he would rather work in his tailoring business for his later years now. I guess I can understand that. He is only human. Sad. He helped me with my TBI, but now I have to deal with people who have no training in neurology for the symptoms of my seizures and neuro complications. Adequate training in neuroscience is not included or respected in primary medicine and dealing with other people has been torturous because they don't know or understand our difficulties, nor do they seem to care. Primary care is inadequate. I just want to be able to breathe well enough to survive for a few more years.

If you are looking for a physician who says he cares & will get to the bottom of what is going on in your body, but then doesn't follow through with communicating results or plan of care... this is your man. He seems to only follow through with the tests which he can conduct himself. If he recommends and MRI... don't plan on getting it. When our insurance asked for more info to substantiate need, he has not replied to them for months. Shameful. If he truly cared about the pain my daughter was in, shouldn't he have done his job. We were told he does these things in his "spare time." Really, we needed him to do what he said. Despite several in office tests being done, we still have no answers or test results. Calls to his office, are not returned. Very disappointing. One day we stopped by during office hours to check on things... The office was locked & lights were off... We called & they answered the phone. They then let us in to fill out paperwork... So disappointing.

A very concerned mom – Jan 09, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Smith?
I was given a diagnosis that was later contradicted by other neurologists. He became very agitated when I asked questions about the diagnosis and could not answer my questions. Instead, I was given an ultimatum to take meds or he would pull my drivers license. Through my own research and conversations with others, I know I am not alone in my complaint.

Staff is completely disrespectful. I called to reschedule my appointment due to weather and a tree being down on our road and was told due to not giving a 24 hours notice I would be charge a no show fee of 300$! And they were cancelling my next scheduled appointment. Then I was hung up on. In addition I never received my MRI results from them.

This man needs to retire now before he hurts more people. He ordered an MRI for my child and never would give results! Made me pay tons in office visits and procedures before he let us come for results (month) we were living with horror with unknown. Later said children couldn't have migraines. GHS could not believe is! Never helped. He couldn't answer 1 ques ever. The receiptionist who also does procedures is mean and hung up on me when I asked for results that by law I am entitled to

Honest – Jul 13, 2018

Like the others who have left reviews, I agree that Dr. Smith does not have any bedside manner at all. He does not listen. He gives you the impression that he thinks you are below him, and he stays "on the fence" about giving you a definite answer about anything, like long term prognosis, medications, etc. He has lost the reason for why he became a doctor-to help people. He forgets that there are serious issues if you are coming to him.

Disappointed in healthcare – Jun 22, 2018

This man knows nothing about Neurology and his license should be revoked. Thanks to him I have permanent neurologic deficits and find his claim of being a neurologist one big joke. AVOID this supposed physician!

My problem was not really with Dr. Smith. The problem then and now is with his office staff. They are very unprofessional, rude, and no empathy with their patients who they don't realize have an immune def. disease. These patient and myself have no cure and yet they are careless. I suggest everyone to find else where because mentioning this to Dr. Smith is like talking in another language he does not seem to understand.

I have went to Dr.Smith for almost two years. He becomes less and less helpful at each visit. He doesn't seem concerned about my questions or concerns any more. Wants me to come in for unnecessary vists to discuss things he should already know. Staff is also this way. Have waited in several referrals for weeks after my appointment. Looking for new neurologist.

At the beginning I liked him. He seemed to know what he was doing. But as time went on ,he's not so good anymore. I am looking for a new neurologist. He doesn't pay attention to my records or he may write down the wrong things. He will say that I've had something done when I haven't. He doesn't know the medications I'm on (the ones that he wrote). He has also been kinda rude to me a couple of times. He also doesn't give me time to talk, he will interrupt me.

I am a new patient of Dr. Smith and I have had nothing but great encounters with Him and His staff. Dr. Smith takes the time to explain details and that means a lot to me. He is very patient and answers all my questions. His staff are very kind and pleasant to work with as well.
