Dr. Martella gave me a cogent second opinion as to whether I should get a valve replaced during surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. My surgeon was of the "while we're in there" school of surgery as to the replacement; easy for him to say since he didn't have to live with the consequences of a new valve for the rest of HIS life. Dr. Martella gave the new valve idea a strict thumbs down, and even offered to call my surgeon to tell him so. Dr. Martella is a tough guy, as evidenced by his camo scrubs. I like him and you will, too (Dr. Martella's opinion for my procedure was endorsed by two other physicians involved in cardiology, by the way.).

Dr. Martella saved my life 18 years ago. I had had 2 heart attacks and was heading for a 3rd and fatal one. He did a triple bypass and fixed me.

He is a fine and gracious man with tremendous surgical skills. His cardiac staff and the cardiac department are excellent. I do not have one complaint about him or his cardiac department.
