Dr. Arthi Kumaravel, MD

After my terrible experience with Dr. Konadu, I sought out Dr. Kumaravel, hoping for better care and a fresh perspective on my ongoing stomach pain. I explained my long history of severe pain and my concerns that the previous diagnosis of IBS did not fully explain my symptoms. However, during our discussion, she informed me that Dr. Konadu was joining their practice. Because of this, she seemed reluctant to conduct further testing, likely assuming that my previous results were sufficient. It wasn’t until an unrelated MRI of my lower back revealed a large gallstone that I finally had the answer I had been searching for. When I brought this discovery to Dr. Kumaravel, expecting some acknowledgment that this could be the root of my pain, I was met with complete indifference. She gave me a blank stare and simply said, "Maybe, maybe not." That was the extent of her concern. Thankfully, I was referred to a surgeon, Dr. Bloemendal, who removed my gallbladder. Following the surgery, he confirmed that my gallbladder had been severely infected—a condition that had likely caused my excruciating pain for years. The best part? No more IBS. My symptoms disappeared completely. No digestive issues. No bathroom problems. No pain. It is incredibly frustrating to know that had Dr. Kumaravel been willing to do further testing, I could have avoided years of suffering. Patients should never feel like they are being dismissed or treated as an inconvenience. If your doctor doesn’t seem to listen or care, then immediately find someone else.

She would not listen! Anything you say she perceives to come from someone who does not know what they are talking about. If she can’t push a prescription on you, she can’t think of any other way to investigate what is wrong with you. Find someone else if you need a doctor to help you

Very unsettling...she pretty much told me that she could not or would not treat me. The last thing she did before dismissing me was she shrugged. Nothing was said about to schedule my next appointment, but then I get a call from Gateway to schedule a CT scan, a scan that I told her that I just had in May of this year that was ordered by my hematologist. I was left feeling that I would probably not go to see her again!! Did not feel good about this appointment.

Dr Kumaravel has taken great care of both myself and my daughter for several years. She is knowledgeable and caring. We trust her completely with our GI health. Her staff is also caring and attentive.

This is my 4th or 5th time undergoing a procedure with Dr. Kumaravel. The Dr. and her staff are very professional and attentive to my needs regarding the procedure. I have the upmost confidence with Dr. Kumaravel and her staff that the procedure will be done with no issues and very little discomfort. I have heard good reviews about Dr. Kumaravel being in the medical field and referring patients to her office. So when it came time for me to see a GI I went to her. Dr. Kumaravel listened intently and gave me a good plan to assist with my issue. She is knowledgeable and understands that everyone is different and she doesn’t treat you like a number but a human being with real issues. She will be my GI for the long haul.
