I do not usually write reviews, but people have to know what I have witnessed. If you look at the other reviews on this page, you would know that I am not alone. I choose Dr. Arlene Fontanares for my first pregnancy, OBGYN. I was recommended by my family doctor, who are great friends. I did not have any problems until the end of my pregnancy when I decided to cancel my induction, scheduled one day after my due date. Please note: I have no history of health issues, and my baby has no complications. Consequently, I thought it would have been best for my baby and me to wait a few more days after my due date to see if my body would naturally have labor contractions. Nevertheless, I went to the office today for my weekly check-up, and Dr. Fontanares was very upset with me because I decided to cancel my induction. Then she proceeded to open my cervix to 2 cm, which was very painful. With her initial uncomfortable attitude and tone when I arrived, I felt like she intentionally wanted

What doctor tells a woman she had to be induced one day past her due date? Then gets angry when she says no? Then sticks her fingers up your vagina during an exam and forcefully stretches the cervix? Worst doctor ever!

I also do not understand the negative reviews. I have been a patient of Dr. Fontanares for about 15 + years. I always go for the annual exam, I do not have children so I have not had to use her for baby delivery/care. She has always been very pleasant and personable with me. I only have positive things to say about her.

I truly don’t understand these negative reviews re: Dr. Fontaneres. I have been seeing her since my beloved Dr. Muhlendorf retired about ten years ago. Yes, sometimes there is a significant wait, but I block out extra time in my schedule to accommodate this possibility. I don’t begrudge her spending extra time with a needier patient when I’m there for a routine appointment. She has always had a smile on her face and is very chatty during any exam (and a few slightly embarrassing procedures). She takes my concerns to heart and even made my daughter very comfortable during her first visit before she went to college, explaining everything as she moved from instrument to instrument and everything she was doing. The receptionists and nurses have always been welcoming.

Working in the medical field, I have certainly seen a lot. I have worked with many providers and helped a number of patients. I have never NEVER ever in my life seen such awful bedside manner from a physician. She is extremely rude and careless of her patients, especially their time. I was new to this practice after a friend recommended me but I will never return. She does not deserve to be in a practice.

Unfortunately I had the pleasure of meeting this horrible excuse of a doctor when my grandson was being born. We were told that my daughter in-law could have as many people in room as she wanted. This very nasty doctor walks in looks at us , never introduced herself starts talking nasty to the nurse who’s been with us the whole evening. Watches the baby heart rate and contractions then tries to make my daughter in law have a epidural. Once she said No and we as a family told my daughter in law it was her decision to do what she wanted this woman kicks us out the room . I’ve never seen a doctor so nasty and lacking any bedside manner. She wanted to have another reason to charge insurance for unnecessary medication and didn’t get her way. Believe what you read about this doctor. She is nasty, no bedside manner and wants to do what she wants not what the patient wants. I GIVE HER NO STAR!!!

Worst doctor I have ever seen in my life!! Unfortunately I went into labor while she was on call and had the worst experience of my life! Horrible c-section(i won't get into details on here) and still having complications from that c-section almost 2 years later! Oh yes and after she delivered my child in her rude and thoughtless manner she left and I never ever ever saw her again! She never came in and checked on me nothing! Super weird and unprofessional!

I have never seen such unprofessionalism in a work place. She makes you wait over an hour to be seen and she is extremely rude. As if sitting in a cold room naked for over an hour is bad enough, the nurses just stand around talking about horses and gossiping about staff. Do they really think the doors are sound proof? The front desk staff is friendly but her nurses are awful and she could care less about your wait as long as she gets paid. She doesnt even apoligize

500 characters are not enough to explain my disdain for her. Then you have a group of nurses who seem they couldn't smile to save their life. I didn't go to medical school so maybe I don't know much but I would believe that a doctor should be caring, compassionate , and friendly. That's the least you could do after I waited an hour and a half to see you. I have already requested a new doctor but I should have trusted all the reviews in the first place. This lady is horrible! Trust the reviews

She DOES NOT REALLY CARE about her patients, ALL SHE WANTED WAS TO EARN MONEY!!! She never followed my birth plan and just did everything her way bec. thats what makes her job easier!!! Dr.Fontanares never really answered my questions and MAKES LAME EXCUSES like why do we have to do induction when I dont really needed it. She even said I need to have C-section badly but when I asked another Dr. about my case she said she’s not a good Dr. at al!!! YOU STILL HAVE TIME, PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER DR.

By far the worst physician I've seen in my life. I waited 1hour and 15min to be seen. She acknowledged me with a fake smile, listened to my baby girls heart beat, and when I started to ask questions she says" my nurse will go over that with you" and leaves the room. Absolutely no bedside manner. Her nurse doesn't even smile or act professional. This practice is messy. Everytime I come in theres a new nurse who doesn't know what their doing. They can't even take blood pressures correctly.

Worst experience. Neither was she friendly and interested in my care nor was she timely. She did not even acknowledge being plenty late, only stepped in, asked about nausea and vaginal bleed, ignored our concern outright; stepped out within 2 mins and sent the nurse back for rest. Did not even care to ask if we had any questions before stepping out or tell that she wasn't coming back in. Ob visits should be a joy and not an added stress and annoyance. Do yourself a favor and find someone better

I highly don't recommend Dr. Fontanares because she misdiagnosed me. I was going to her for almost 10 years and she never told me that I had fibroids. It was not until 2015 that she said she felt something during a papsmear. She never recommended an ultra sound to make sure. Then when I left her practice to get a second opinion I found out that I had 8 fibroids. All different sizes from marbles, to golf ball size, and now a grapefruit. I was trying to have my first child and she knew it.
