Avoid this pediatrician at all costs
This pediatrician’s approach was unexpectedly critical rather than supportive. At the first visit, normal newborn weight loss was treated as a major concern, creating unnecessary stress instead of offering guidance. The way concerns were communicated felt more discouraging than helpful.One of the most unsettling moments was receiving a call before test results were even in—warning that if levels were high, a hospital visit would be needed. This was speculative at that point and caused avoidable worry. When the actual results came back completely normal, the response was simply, “Oh, I didn’t expect that.” A more thoughtful approach would have been to wait for the results before creating panic.Additionally, there was strong pressure to return for an extra weight check the next day, despite severe weather conditions. When safety concerns were raised, the response was dismissive, implying that coming in was the only responsible choice. That lack of flexibility was concerning.
