avoid like the plague
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I consulted several doctors and got opinions ranging from, "this needs surgery immediately," to "this will never be a factor in your life." I went to UCLA to consult with Dr. Arie Belldegrun. He sent his colleague/trainee, Stephen Riggs, into the tiny room for a preliminary interview. I had several questions, but when I started asking them, this condescending twit patted me on the shoulder and said, "leave it to the professionals." He wrote a couple of words on a sheet of paper and put it into a manila folder. As he left the room he handed the folder to Dr. Belldegrun, who didn't open it. "After carefully considering (!) your situation, I have decided that surgery is necessary. I'll have the nurse call you tomorrow," Belldegrun said. No one called, but I had already made my decision, and years later the cancer is still "clinically insignificant." These incompetent clowns should not be inflicted on sick people.
