I was told I needed a complete thyroidectomy by this doctor (and an endocrinologist at the same hospital), to address possibly malignant cells on one side of my thyroid. I persisted in obtaining a referral (this took weeks, multiple phone calls and emails and an "occupation" of my primary care doctor's clinic office) for a 2nd opinion with a surgeon at another hospital, where a 2nd review of biopsy results showed no cancer, and no need for surgery. If you get a diagnosis here, get a 2nd opinion.
