Dr. Arathi Veeraswamy, MD

Would give no stars but not possible. Picked them due to the PA stating homeopathic. Had postmenopausal bleeding. After a second ultrasound, had a consult with the physician. She comes into the room, stands the whole time with arms folded and stated 'I don't know why you don't want a hysterectomy' It is my body, I don't want it. Was told that the cysts could be causing the bleeding not the fibroid by the PA, physician says, no it is the fibroid. If I chose to do a myomectomy, the recovery time would be the same as a hysterectomy. She was very cold, did not explain ANYTHING, and made me feel like I was doing something wrong wanting to keep my uterus. She asked me why I was taking soy isoflavons without any reason explained to me if I should or not. I told her I was getting a second opinion which I did and was told there was discrepancies in my ultrasound that did not make sense. Stay away from here, very cold.

This was the worst Dr I have ever had in my life!! She is so rude and condescending. She doesn’t listen to what you are doing through, all she does it provide surgery and you go in for an emergency visit being in a tremendous amount of pain because she didn’t get all the cysts out that she said she did and all she says oh just keep taking ibuprofenand do what you’re doing at home. I ended up having to go to the ER to get some type of pain, relief because I was in so much pain all because she couldn’t even do the surgery, right. I would give her 0 starts if that was an option!!

Just moved to Reno and needed an OBGYN because the BC I've been on for 12 (TWELVE) years is no longer covered by my insurance. For context, I had toxic shock when I was 13 and was put on BC to avoid periods as it was a risk to my health (as explained to me by my ID Dr and OBGYN of 10+ years). Never even spoke to Dr V, instead I saw a midwife who was so condescending and rude. Didn't even try to understand where I was coming from and completely dismissed all my concerns.

Worst bedside manner I ever experienced ! She was so rude, looked at me annoyed and was dismissive when I asked questions. I made an appointment because of some breast issues , but she didn’t even bothered to ask about it or was interested in listening to my queries that I had. She was rushing the whole time. She seems interested doing just her routine checkup. She literally THREATENED me while evaluating me during the pap-smear screening. I was having some discomfort and instead of giving me time to breathe the Dr said “do you want me to stop? I don’t want to flight with you. I hope you know how Pap smears screening is done” I mean seriously? Who talks to a patient like this ? She was so horrible the whole time, I was feeling scared even looking at her ! I have never met such horrible Dr. in my life!No further questions was asked from her end. She left abruptly saying her office will get back to me! I scheduled appointment with her even after reading negative reviews. All IS TRUE

I have a 1 star just because I had to if I had the choice it would have been a negative 5 star rating. I saw Dr V nurse practitioner Brooke Maclennan she is condescending and belittling and has no regard for patients. Went for a first time appointment for problems with irregular periods. She came into the room and just started in with me about how I need to have an IUD or a nexplanon device implanted for BC. I was shocked before I could even go over why I was there for my visit she just went into this. I told her I was not interested in having either of these devices she completely dismissed me and refused to discus why I was really here. Upon her leaving the room she yet again pushed the devices. When I went to check out the front office tried to schedule me for an ultrasound. When I declined and asked why they were trying to schedule this the reply was for an IUD implementation. I couldn’t believe it this office is looking only make money from you and insurance.

She is a condescending, narcissist. She is rude and arrogant. She does not listen and she is very very unprofessional. She wanted to put me on hormones to shrink a very very large mass, that was not going to work she just wanted to try and see what could happen and I was her Guinee pig, she would not listen to my concerns at all she confidently told me to look for another because she was clearly unskilled. Please look for a doctor that can address your concerns and one who's medical opinion will help you, this Dr is a waste of time and insurance.

This is the worst Dr I’ve ever been to. I hope her license is revoked. Please look for an alternative. She doesn’t listen to you or care what you say. Her opinion or nothing. She’s too scared to carry out surgery. She tells you to speak with someone else confidently so that she avoids minimally risky surgery. She says seek other help with such a confidence so you feel like she knows what she’s talking about and avoid other advice, we’ll I looked for someone else at St Mary’s it was just the best dang decision I ever made. I’ll never go back to that arrogant narcissistic lady

I don’t recommend her at her. I thought she would be smart . Sadly she has no confidence to do normal gynecology surgery. She confidently says seek another opinion because she knows she’s incapable of doing basic stuff. After My second opinions from Dr Lim, Dr Susan Hsu and someone else! All three of them were mind blown that Dr Araathi just let me go with a 14 cm benign tumor on top of my uterus and she just wanted me to be on birth control . She is very incompetent. Look for a better Doctor! Dr Hsu is amazing and kind unlike this arrogant self serving person

The doctor was not helpful at all and was really condescending. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and I have had it for the past 10 years. I’m pretty educated on what PCOS is - I’ve seen very educated and world known doctors for this. My appointment to was find a gynecologist I can see regularly and also switch my birth control pill, as I have been on my current one for awhile and it is not helping control my symptoms. Dr.Veeraswamy was completely dismissive, didn’t listen to me, interrupted me, and told me that PCOS is not a hormonal disorder. And that the only birth control I need is condoms… (note that I’m on birth control for hormone regulation; not to prevent pregnancy).. after saying that she then tried to push an IUD or the depo shot on me. It isn’t her choice what birth control I choose for my body and to tell me I cannot have the pill is not okay, especially seeing as she has no idea what the hell she is talking about. She did not listen to why I was even needing to se

I feel like a number every appointment she is always in a hurry to leave but you also have to wait a while to see her. She says she does things to inform you of your health and that's b.s. Her office never calls you to remind you of appointments,you have to call back to get prescription sent in.

I really want to like Dr. Veeraswamy. I had a great first impression of her, unfortunately every appointment after the first, I am becoming ever more disappointed with my care. My visits are rushed, and it seems bothersome to Dr. Veeraswamy to be asked any questions.

I highly recommend Dr. Arathi Veraswammy. Easy access to office and parking. Front desk and Medical Assistant are friendly, patient and very helpful. Immediately formed a nice relationship with Dr. V who really listens, questions, is humble yet confident. I was referred to her with a uterine prolapse, after a thorough exam I had a different diagnosis and so relieved, no surgery required. Conservative treatment suggested, continue the Pelvic PT I had already begun. She is highly ethical!

Unprofessional!!! She didn’t know my history, why I came in for a visit, didn’t remember seeing me a week prior, and didn’t answer ANY of my questions. I’ve seen her several times related to pregnancy complications and a miscarriage. To make matters worse, she has often contradicted herself and gave conflicting recommendations. I’ve left feeling hopeless, uninformed, and uneducated, and completely in the dark as to how to care for myself. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Amazing, caring, professional doctor! I came in around 28 weeks pregnant due to a change in insurance. She just delivered my baby boy last night. From day one she has been caring and pays attention to my concerns and baby. I'm so happy I found her and highly recommend her to any mom to be!

She is rude, condescending, and belittling for no reason. She questioned my truthfulness when I questioned her “standard of care”. Absolutely the worst professionalism I have encountered. I am new to the state and it took some time getting into a doctor so I missed the 12 week window and she refused to order me a real ultrasound despite my concerns. This will be my 3rd delivery, but there’s no such thing as a mother’s wishes to her, it’s all about her agenda and if you don’t like that, tough.

I absolutely loved her! I saw her when I was 11 weeks pregnant and since then she has been absolutely amazing and she even delivered my child . Some people may have had bad experiences with her and I honestly wouldn't know why, hormones maybe, lol. But I would recommend her to anyone that wants someone caring about both YOU and your baby.

Worst doctor ever. Any time I questioned anything against the status quo, She criticized me for putting myself before my baby. After bullying me through my whole Labor, It ended with a C-section. Even during the csection she continually talked down to me. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.

She has little to no time to answer your questions. I find her to be inappropriately unprofessional, questioning your concerns and invalidating the things you feel in your own body. I've had nothing but disappointing experiences with her.

Dr. Veeraswamy is one of the worst and most incompassionate doctors I've ever seen. I had a pap done that came back abnormal and they never even gave back the results. I came in a month later for a biopsy and had to ask for my results. She let me know I had BV and sorry she forgot to call. Then she tries to explain it to me terribly, my sister tries to break it down into simple terms, and she jumped all over my sister. To make it worse, no one prepped me for my endometrial biopsy
