Dr. April Whitfield, MD

I do not recommend her as an ob for high risk pregnancies. She didn't listen to my concerns with my high risk pregnancy and I ended up in the hospital with preterm labor and almost lost my baby! She and her team are horrible!

Attentive and caring. It was my first gyn visit in several years and she made it less stressful!

I loved Dr Whitfield as my OB/GYN. She was very personable & we built a quick repo from the 1st visit. As a Dental Hygienist, (RDH/BS) I appreciated her thoroughness of the exam & attention to detail of my DOB, when advising me that the age of at risk pregnancy had dropped to 35 yrs of age from the old standard of 40 yrs old. At that point, we discussed the risk & possibilities of me becoming pregnant at that age, since I had never conceived before. So next, she recommended a treatment plan of a consultation & more extensive tests to determine my fertility chances. The exams were truly needed, because it identified my remaining egg count & revealed a blockage that I was totally unaware of, that was treated at the same time. Soon after that visit, I actually did conceive and was placed with a high-risk specialist to monitor my very first pregnancy. So if not for Dr Whitfield doing her due diligence at an annual exam, I wouldn’t have my son with me now! Thank You Dr April Whitfield.

NEVER got to visit due to an old balance of $110.64! I am CURRENTLY homeless and experiencing 'TMI' female issues and they are CONCERNED about a bill from 2015!!! Wow! Money over medicine!!!! Oh! Back to the ER!!! SMH :(

I love Dr. Whitfield! She is so down to earth and nice. She’s always willing to answer your questions and take the time to discuss things with you. Dr. Whitfield has been my doctor for about 10 years.

Dr. Whitfield rushed me through my visit, did not address my concerns at all, and made me feel very under valued as a patient. I had to call to get results and the doctor gave me no follow up about my condition. I called a handful of times attempting to get someone on the phone who could explain my symptoms to me, only for them to tell me I would have to schedule another appointment. I'm sorry I wasted my time and money with the first appointment and will definitely be finding a new doctor who listens to her patients concerns the first time.

I’ve been seeing doctor Whitfield for several years now. I just love her she is awesome!!

Professional but down to earth. Took time to answer my concerns and I never felt like I was being rushed out the door . My first visit and I will be using the doc for future appointments

You can be a good physician without being completely rude. Partly this review is so poor because of MMC’s outdated policies. But every policy can be explained and upheld in a kind way. This Dr. was anything but kind to me. The office manager is not any better. It’s unfortunate to grow up with MMC as a child and have such bad experiences in this department as an adult. I don’t recommend this doctor.

I had a first experience with Dr. Whitfield and found her to be thorough and compassionate. She was open to hear what I had to say and had affordable resolutions. I am so glad to have found her. I would definitely recommend her. Gail Murfreesboro,TN

We are high risk pregnacy. Medicare dropped my fiance.We went to appointment, Whitfield and Asc. Demanded we pay up front. We explained we cannot pay we must reschedule. In hopes our medical is back. We had 2 sitdowns and phone call every week for 3 weeks lecturing us to pay and come in. Explained we cannot pay and are still awaiting insurance. Certified mail from her office dropped my high risk 26 week pregnant fiance after 4th week. Whitfield has shown she does not care about her patients.

I would NEVER recommend Dr April Whitfield! She is one of the worst gynecologists I have ever been a patient of. She is egotistical, condescending, has a bad bedside manner, refuses to listen to or acknowledge concerns/complaints from patients. She took it upon herself to switch my birth control medicine without consulting me first. Then when problems arose from the new bc med, she refused to replace it with my previous bc that I had used for years problem free. HORRIBLE DOCTOR! Complete QUACK!

Dr. Whitfield has been my gynecologist since 2010 and I love her! She's great about making you feel comfortable and when I was struggling to get pregnant she wasted no time in helping me conceive.

Nurse assist bad attitude.And Doctor,player hater. Trying put you in lot medical debt.
