Dr. Antoinina Watkins, MD

Dr. Watkins has been my OB since I was 12 years old. I’m now 33. I love her sense of humor, she’s dry and sarcastic and always makes me laugh. I feel safe with Dr. Watkins, I’m comfortable asking questions and telling her anything she needs to know related to my care. Dr. Watkins has delivered both of my children and although I don’t agree with the rushed approach the medical industry takes with birthing (breaking of the waters manually, pitocin etc) I feel 100% comfortable with Dr. Watkins every time. I feel respected by her and although we don’t always agree on things, due to being unconventional myself, I wouldn’t have anyone else as my OB.

I called to check about getting an appointment and the scheduling was even rude after she told me they don't take Blueselect I proceeded to ask another question and she (the office scheduler or nurse) hung up right in my face in the middle of me talking. I didn't get upset about it because I've learned there's nothing you can really do when customer service hangs up in your face so why get upset so I wrote a review instead.

Dr.Watkins is an amazing doctor! I had just moved from PR when I first visited her and after months of looking for a new obgyn here in Tampa, I was so so so so happy for finding this genius doctor. Now I feel so sad she will no longer be working in Women’s Care Riverview. Just hope she is not moving out of state!!!

She is the most patient doctor. Listens and talks to her patients as if she truly cares.

didn’t have a visit and from the ratings i wouldn’t go to her or recommend no one hope she reads reviews and quite because obviously she don’t like her job !

She's has a very negative demeanour. She made myself & my fiancé feel very uncomfortable every visit. When we went to deliver, the nurse staff shared all the deceitful things she wrote about me. That made my labor experience more uneasy. I should have been excited, but having nurses gossiping false accusations made me sad.

She was the doctor for my delivery (unfortunately). She asked me how I was feeling and I told her I was in pain, her response was “didn’t you know was it going to hurt before you made the baby?”. She mistreated me. She was rude. She gave me the worst experience possible. She made a lot of comments, very condescending and disrespectful. I wouldn’t even have her to treat a fever. Rude, rude, rude. I should have sued her for the way she treated me when I was delivering my baby.

She lacks compassion. I had gone to hospital while in labor, my contractions stopped and they sent me home. I had appointment with Dr. Watkins that day so I went to meet her at the clinic and went into labor again, this time contractions were strong. She made me wait, my husband requested many times and other patients started to worry looking at me. The staff was scared too. She finally saw me, checked me and said the I was 6 1/2 cm dilated already and was very rude. I was in pain and she said to me "you are the one who keeps having children so why complain about the pain". This was my second pregnancy and I was so furious but since I could not do much, I could have delivered my baby in the car. Reached the hospital and delivered my baby in triage room as soon I lay down. They did not have anytime to assess or check but to deliver the baby. I reported this to the management but no action was taken, did not receive any apology. She is not fit to be a doctor.

shes Rude and mean. She was the dr. On call at the hospital. All the nurses follow what she says. No bedside manners.

She truly cares. The absolute best surgeon ever. She saved my life.

Awful bedside manner. Completely rude and dismissive. I was at the hospital feeling awful with severe anemia, she comes in and just wants to send me home without any follow up bloodwork. She was so abrasive, I did tell her she wasn’t very kind, and I wished she would have been nicer. She said she has been told that before. So there you have it, she knows she lacks compassion yet doesn’t work on how to improve her bedside manner. I don’t want to see this woman or her office ever again.

Very rude and asks as if you are a bother. If you don’t like your job or your patients...quit!

it seems as if she lost her passion for her work and would rather get things over with in terms of delivery. She's not personable, seems as if she lacks interest in her patients and work.

Dr Watkins always takes the time to answer my questions and talks in a way that I can understand everything. I'm so confident that she is taking the best care of me. I'm so thankful to have a doctor like her.
