STAY AWAY FROM THIS HCA HOSPITAL!This was my first and LAST time ever visiting HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, especially not someone sick, in pain, or needing URGENT care. You have to arrive at this hospital covered in blood and already dying to receive some attention. If you're seeking prompt medical attention or even just basic human decency, you will suffer even more in the hands of the staff at this disgrace of a hospital. This is by far the worst hospital in the entire HCA organization.Not only was I neglected for hours while in pain, but the level of incompetence and disregard for human life I witnessed here is beyond anything I ever thought possible in a medical facility. I was placed in a room for hours without ANY acknowledgment. The admission nurse didn’t even know I was there. I had to press the call light repeatedly, only for some random nurse to come in, pretend to care, silence the call light, and disappear again. No

Dr Fong has no personality and he gave me a neck injection that hurt 10x more before, my left arm( which I had no problem with) is killing me that I can’t even close my left pinky. He has the personality of a robot. Warning stay away.

Dr Afong, Kristen, and all the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. You are always treated well and never rushed. I rarely have to sit down in waiting room. They usually get me into a room and seen before my scheduled appointment time. I have never left the office feeling disappointed or unheard. I can’t think of anything that they should change. The doctor and Kristen are great and do all they can to control my pain. They have totally changed my quality of life. Keep up the good work and thank you very much!

There was no one in the office, The Assistant faced the wall asking endless questions and typing. No interest in me at all Dr was uninterested and uncaring Don’t bother to go. Ordered a huge number of scans and X-rays and no plan was described. Then, the doctor would not even be seen at the next visit. People in pain deserve sympathy and a smile.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. First of all, the office is impossible to get ahold of; you are forced to leave a message and NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK. My husband had an upcoming procedure and had some clinical questions. No calls were returned to us for 4 straight days. We finally called after hours and asked to speak with the clinician on call the night before, who answered our questions. The day of the procedure, I was not allowed in as there were "already 2 people waiting inside". Dr Afong did not address any of my husbands concerns during the procedure, was cold and said we're done and left the room. Wham, Bam, Thank you, Ma'am method apparently. No post procedure instructions were given to my husband and the office never even called to follow up and ask how he was doing. And again, there is no way to reach the office as you cannot hold to speak to anyone, you are forced to leave a message which never gets returned. This Dr has NO bedside manner and no compassion. Stay away.

The first visit seemed to go okay. I then went back for an injection in my lumbar region. After the injection, the pain worsened so I called the office for help and found out Dr. Afong was on vacation with no backup to assist. Needless to say, I cancelled my follow-up appointments as I no longer had faith or trust in Dr. Afong.

Dr. Afong is an A+ physician. I simply can not say enough good things about this doctor and his staff. First off, there is never a long wait to see him or the doctors assistants. Everyone is always very professional and friendly. They are always concerned about your feelings and your well being, especially Dr. Afong and the doctor assistants which both spend sufficient time with their patients giving you time to ask all your questions and they really do listen and care. They also answer all questions making sure that the patient understands his or her answers which most doctors don't take the time to do. Dr. Afong is helping me and my pain level does still go up and down because of my injuries but when I started my pain level was a 9-10 and hasn't been that high again for a long time because of his excellent treatments. Thank you Dr. Afong and his great doctor assistants!

He didn’t listen to me & refuses to consider my past medical history. I was going to be out of medication in 7 days. He said to make another appointment in 7 days. When I went to the front desk she was making an appointment for TWO weeks & When I questioned her she said that’s just what the dr told her to do. If I hadn’t noticed this I would have been out of medication & would have gone thru what I assumed to be nasty withdrawals

I felt my complications could not be resolved. Dr. Afong is the first to actually help me. Truly surprised at how different it can be from one Dr. to the next. I was referred by my ortho and feel this was a life saving decision to go.

Never been treated so poorly and with no compassion for his patients. Not everyone that comes to you are drug addits but people who were hurt some way and only looking for someone to help them and be compassionate to their pain goes along way doctor in getting better results from your patient shame on you

Doesn't hear anything you say, after being thru the "system" ,injections, therapy, medications and finally surgery and still having pain he wanted me to go thru the whole thing again???prior to going to this Dr. with the personality of a fire hydrant I'd never been to someone as inconsiderate

I was in this man's office for 15 minutes. He had on a white lab coat, sat primly with his legs crossed at his little desk. Looked as if he'd been sent from central casting to audition for the psycho doctor in a tv remake of a Stephen King novel, Very nasty attitude. Not certain he even knew my name as he said he had none of my medical records. What's the point in seeing a new patient if you have none of the medical records on that patient & haven't spoken to any of their doctors?

Such a wonderful Dr.Caring and nice to talk to! I am so glad to meet him, he is excellent!

Dr along is caring, gentle and, above all, truthful with his clients. He is highly recommended .

I've been a pain management person since 1980 and seem a lot of Pain management Drs.with all my years of dealing,with PM Dr. Dr. Afong has been the best one (17) to date. I suffer with many disorders such as Reflex Sympathtic Dystrophy, degenerative joint disorder, fibromyalgia, arthritis just to name a few, I also have a spinalcord stimulator and a medical infused pump both implanted in me. Dr. Afong and staff always treated me with respect, very clean office/treament and procedure rooms.
