Highly Proficient Practitioner
Dr. Litvak is a knowledgeable medical professional. She diligently assessed my complex set of symptoms, medications and prior medical testing and procedures. Then, following a through neurological examination, she gave me a clear explanation of the root cause of my medical condition coupled with a crisp understanding of my treatment alternatives. She clearly described what I can realistically expect for a short and long term outcome. Dr. Anna Litvak is an excellent communicator with keen listening and diagnostics skills. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor supporting my medical team.

Poor communication/
My father is a patient. I was urged to speak to her by my father’s Assisted Living managers about his driving ability. She advised he not drive and get a neuropsych exam based on some behavior noted by the managers at the facility. Due to her refusal to contact RMV to have his license removed ( only doctors and law enforcement can do this )he is still driving at the age of 92 in spite of a history of neuropathy and numbness in his legs and passing out due to blood pressure meds and cardiac issues. Her neglect and poor communication has caused a lot of difficulty for my family and endangered the public. Her reason? She did not want to lose my father as a patient. My communications to her were cc’d to my father through the patient app. When he questioned her she lied to him and said she had never recommended that the license be removed. She told him she asked me to consult with RMV and get their evaluation . Not true . This practice used to have 5 doctors . Currently two . Many issues

If I could give Dr. Litvak and Miss Deborah Phelps 6 stars, I would. I am a patient of Dr. Litvak since last year for migraines, she explained my conditions very well. She is very smart and knowledgeable in her specialty. She has gone and beyond to helping me. I needed a professional letter about my situation and Dr. Litvak wrote the letter expeditiously right after she got back from her vacation without hesitation. Her compassion and care for her patients do not end at her office. Miss Phelps was prompt and professional with the office messaging and communications, I didn’t have to wait or guess what will be the response to all my questions and requests. Both ladies provided outstanding care and support making my visits and communications with them a positive and empowering experience. I highly recommend Dr. Litvak and her office for anyone with neurological related concerns.

Excellent doctor
I have been Dr. Litvak's patient for a number of years now. My husband is a doctor and knew of her. She has been most patient and compassionate but most importantly, knowledgeable and thorough. Her manner is straight forward and matter-of fact. Do not pay attention to the negative reviews below. They don't address her skill and commitment to her patients at all.

SO confident in my care, I recommended others!
I've been a delighted patient of Dr. Litvak's for five years. I have had migraines since age 16 and had many different neurologists treat me over the past 59 years. I am receiving migraine injections from Dr. Litvak. I trust her decisions related to my care - so much so that I referred my son to her for migraine care. As for the reviews about her being brusque, patients should understand her background. She was born in Europe after WW II in an area that was totally destroyed. It is miraculous that she was able to receive medical training and end up practicing and living in the U.S. She speaks with an accent, and that may be why some unsophisticated folks might find her manner not as warm as they are used to from current medical providers. In reality, she is a compassionate, knowledgeable physician who is warm and devoted to her patients. By the way, I receive ALL my other care from physicians at Mass General in Boston, but I chose Dr. Litvak for my migraine care in Peabody.

Dr. Litvak was excellent when I saw her recently for some testing. Yes, I had to wait a little, but waiting has never bothered me. I feel grateful to have good medical care available to me. Dr. Litvak was both competent and confident, and I felt totally comfortable. She explained each test thoroughly. I disagree with previous negative comments about her. I appreciate doctors who say what they mean and mean what they say. I give Dr. Litvak five stars!

Unprofessional attitude
I agree with the comments of others who have posted. The doctor is rude and unprofessional. I'd suggest that she see a good neurologist because there is something with her that just doesn't add up. It is the first time I ever got up and walked out of an appointment before it was concluded. After 5 minutes of her rudeness, I asked her why she was 15 minutes late. She said she wasn't and that my appointment was a 9:00. I said you strolled in here at 9:15. She responded mockingly (at least I assume it was mockingly) that she was having a manicure.

I brought my 84 year old father to see Dr Litvak and she was rude, condescending and completely impatient with him and me. We were there for a consultation to understand our options for memory issues and tremors. Because we didn't agree on the spot to a brain MRI she asked me what we were doing there! Her behavior went well beyond a bad bedside manner.

Brought my girlfriend to see her. My girlfriend is slow & shy. Dr Litvack was rude condescending, Belittling. Cannot speak clear English. I worked with many persons from other countries & am very good at understanding people with accents, but she can't communicate with people. She also puts people down when they ask her to slow down. Yelling at me YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I ASK QUESTION YOU ANSWER. She scared my girlfriend.

My first visit was a thorough examination and Dr. Litvak is a good listener. I did not feel she rushed me thru’ and explained why she wanted to schedule an MRI for me. I left feeling confident with her, and a second appointment, after the MRI.

Instead of pursuing diagnostically the symptoms clearly indicative of neurological deficits, Dr. Anna Litvak took aim at my frustration and distress of progressing symptoms in ridicule and suggesting time and again, it was a mental health issue and my imagination. FOR TEN YEARS!

I had a stroke and was referred to Essex Neurology. Saw Dr. Litvak. She explained things well, had a good sense of humor and helped me understand my next steps. I like and appreciate doctors who are direct and she is. For those who don't like people who are direct and need a soft touch, she's probably not the right doctor. For me, she was just what the "doctor" ordered!

Worst doctor I have ever met. Pushy, Rude, Arrogant, Belittling, Abrasive, Acts like she knows it all. Hard to understand. NOT patient with persons. Doesn't explain things good at all. Started changing medications before blood test then sends for blood work after the fact. Doesn't speak clear English & speaks very fast.
