Somehow missed that my daughter had cataracts in both eyes when she was born. Not someone I would entrust my kids care to.Came to see my newborn daughter in the hospital, "did her exam", as a new mom I asked if everything was okay, hearing, sight etc. She said "yes momma everything looks great" then proceeded to try an belittle me for putting on a diaper for the first time slightly wrong, okay fine. My husband is looking at my daughter in the hospital and said "her eyes look cloudy" I saw what he was talking about but figured that the doctor had done her exam and maybe that's just how newborn eyes look. Get to our real pediatrician after hospital discharge and sure enough, her exam revealed cataracts in both eyes that if not addressed within the first 6-8 weeks of life could leave a child blind. My daughter had the surgeries and is in good care now, but it just seems like a pretty careless move to tell me everything is fine when you either didn't do an exam, or did a pretty cruddy one.
