If you want to keep your elder relative alive, stay as far away from this place as possible. I have never experienced such complete incompetence from office staff in my entire life. Dr Garcia was at least nice, but sent in the wrong prescriptions, had no idea how to replace an overnight oxygen machine, and her office staff kept saying for TWO MONTHS that they were sending all the correct forms and prescriptions when in reality they sent nothing. They just kept lying about it all while my mom spent two full months without her oxygen thanks to them. When after two months they finally sent the correct forms, they managed to 'forget' to SIGN THEM. Unbelievable. Really horrible experience with this office and I'm just grateful I got my mom away from them.

My mom's third appointment was yesterday. I listened to my mother lie when asked nearly every question. The doctor didn't see the disingenuousness or simply didn't care. The doctor said she never said she had dementia,. She classified my mother within six months as having mild cognitive impairment after her MRI that showed ischemia and a third memory test of the exact same questions. The National Institute of Health's definition of MCI Is as follows: Dementia is typically diagnosed when acquired cognitive impairment has become severe enough to compromise social and or occupational functioning. Mild cognitive impairment is a state intermediate between normal cognition and dementia, with essentially preserved functional abilities. My mom hasn't been able to work, drive, or operate a blender for YEARS, which the doctor advised my mother to do to 'make her own protein shakes. My mom doesn't bathe and picks up dog poo with her bare hands. This is not normal healthy aging!
