Not interested
Asks exact same scripted questions every time. Not interested in patient at all, makes you feel like a number being checked off of list. Very arrogant

Dr. Bashir is a compassionate practitioner within the Greater Decatur Area. Furthermore, is an outstanding psychiatrist within Central Illinois. I am lucky to have him as my doctor. I actually live in Auburn, IL, an hour away from his office and am willing to drive the extra distance. His office staff is also excellent.

Dr. Bashir is incompetent and no longer cares about his patients. He does not seem to keep a record of what meds our children take or have taken. Has no idea who our kids are or what their mental health concerns are, although we’ve been going to him for over 3 years. He charges over $100 for literally a 5 minute phone call and then lists that call as “psychological testing” on our bill. He does not care if his patients experience terrible side effects from trying new meds. Reminder: he works with kids. He needs to retire. He probably means well, but does not do well. He gets paid way too much to be this negligent. It’s shameful. We don’t feel that our kids are safe under his care. Also, his office staff almost NEVER calls us back when we need to get refills or ask about anything at all. We now drive an hour away for decent care, and it’s worth it.

Dr. Bashir is very punctual. This isn’t always a good thing: He will not extend any appointment if you need to ask questions. I timed my last few appointments, 5 minutes on the dot, no more, no less. If he were not 1 of only 3 in this market, Decatur Illinois, I would drop him. He does not want you to ask any questions about something bothering you, he tells you to make a appointment with a therapist. What if my guestion is a clue I need hospitalization and he misses it? Think about it.

Dr. Bashir is very stiff. He has a "plan" for each appt and seldom goes off scripts never answering questions about care aways deflects or tells you to talk to your therapist.

Never met the man, but he is supposed to be overseeing the care of my daughter who resides in Badby Park NH. She is just 41 and has Picks disease. This man has messed around with her medication causing misery and stress to her family, let alone the effects on my daughter. On top of this, he has twice arranged to visit and meet with myself and my daughters husband. Twice, he has cancelled at the last hour - once, we were even at the home waiting for him. He has shown himself to be rude & arrogant
