Dr. Anita Hwang, MD

Dr. Hwang shows great concern for her patients. i had a cornea transplant and woke without thinking and rubbed my eye. i went from seeing beautiful to blurring vision -- she is trying to fix the problem and I trust she will accomplish the problem one way or the other . i have confidence in her ability as a surgeon. she is warm- kind and caring --i still need a transplant in the other eye and just it to her.

I had a routine visit 30 months ago and after the visit Dr. Hwang said she wanted to see me in 18 months. I came back on the date and time that they wrote on my card, but they didn't have me in the computer. A wasted trip. They rescheduled and when I returned, I had to wait for an hour before being seen. After the visit, Dr. Hwang told me not to come back, that I could just go to an optometrist. They gave me a list when I left. I just received the bill and it was for $800 of which only $285 was covered by my insurance! I feel like these visits were not needed and that they just scheduled me to make money. I had no symptoms, I was just scheduled for check-ups automatically. Also, my wife went to a different doctor and had the same thing done and her bill was $183. So four gripes: Cost, visits that were not needed, poor office workers who didn't enter my appointment into the computer, and over scheduling people so that the wait time is way too long.

As a patient for several years, I have recommended Dr. Hwang to several friends. We are all impressed with her expertise, patient friendly approach and office staff. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.

Dr Hwang is beyond good. She is great. Responsive to questions and concerns and basically brilliant.

Thankful that Dr. Hwang took care of the ulcers in my eye. She saved me from going blind. It took several months, but compared to being nearly blind, to now being able to see again, I'm so happy. Dr. Hwang and her staff are amazing!!!

Excellant bedside manner. Dr. Hwang explained the multiple conditions I was diagnosed with and all testing results.

Dr. Hwang is an extremely gifted physician. It's very rare to have a Dr. be so very knowledgeable, excellent in their field and manage to have patience, concern and caring to the level she practices. When dealing with a very scary and complicated eye issue she was and is so patient and I have full faith in her abilities. Her whole team is great!

Dr. Anita Hwang is by far the best eye doctor I've ever seen. I absolutely love her and her staff as they're always quick to say hello with a smile. From the very first visit, to my cataract surgeries, to today, Dr. Hwang and staff have always been professional, knowledgable, and caring. I would highly, highly, highly recommend Dr. Hwang to everyone. If you want to go to a family atmosphere and actually enjoy your experience at a doctor's office, then go see Dr. Hwang for your eyes.

A wonderful experience with Dr. Hwang and her staff. Her office definitely has a down-to-earth feel, especially with pictures of her beautiful family. Glad I went to see her for a second opinion as a doctor in Groton pressuring me into getting cataract surgery. I have 20/20 vision in both eyes, but he was trying to get me to buy $2000 lenses. Don't go to the doctor in Groton in the dirty strip mall. Dr. Hwang told me that I can wait until I'm ready. I trust that she will do what's best.

No bedside manner. Rushes in and out even with procedures. Looked at me and said well this will hurt and proceeded! Why wasn't numbing drops used? No time to wait as time is money? All about the buck ! Her predecessor was never like this and I'm so glad he reopened his office. The old staff that was highly recommended was removed and replaced by her "relative" who is not so nice either. Both lack customary people skills no matter how educated she may be.

Dr. Hwang ruined my eyes in routine examinations. Shortly after my initial checkup, I started having eye problems. I get blur vision, strained and tired when reading printed materials or watching TV/computer screen. My eyes often feel irritated, itchy, slight pain and teary. The only possible explanation is that Dr. Hwang had put wrong eye drops into my eyes. Perhaps she used the eye drops intended for people with artificial lens (post-cataract surgery) which are too strong for my natural lens?

Dr.Hwang was trusted with our elderly mother to do an eye procedure . We visited the office every week for two years after the surgery ~~~ believing that Dr.Hwang was competent and caring. Several procedures , MANY different eye drops and medications ( contraindicated ) later ~~~ mother was very close to complete blindness . Luckily, we found an extremely competent and caring new Doctor, able to partially correct some of the damage done and save some eyesight .
