Dr. Rusia accepted my mom (78) as a new patient this past June 2020 during the high point of COVID-19, following her in-hospital, 8-day stay for emergency care. Dr. Rusia treated my mother afterwards in a follow up appointment on an Alzheimer’s diagnosis she received in hospital by providing a clear approach to understanding her and the in hospital treatment she received. He created a treatment plan that included examining all of her medications, doing a second MOCA test for dementia and addressing her painful neuropathy. He confirmed no Alzheimer’s, only mild cognitive impairment. I have my mother back better than I have seen her, and Dr. Rusia has been both patient and caring and honors my mother. “He really listens to me and treats me with so much respect.” I attend the appointments with my mom and he addresses all of my concerns and has helped me learn more about my mother’s needs and how I can be a better advocate for her. Our family is grateful!
