Dr. Ani Tokat, MD

Dr. Tokat was the only doctor who truly understood what I was going through during my pregnancy. I was severely ill with hyperemesis gravidarum, unable to keep down food or even medication, and felt so hopeless I considered ending the pregnancy. Dr. Tokat listened with empathy and found the one medication that worked. As my physical symptoms improved, she continued to support me through the anxiety and depression I had been drowning in. Her care gave me hope when I had none. Without her help, I would not have made it through this pregnancy. I’m deeply grateful for her expertise, compassion, and steady support during the most difficult time of my life.

Dr. Tokat is kind and full of knowledge. She is so easy to talk to. She spends a long time with you. A friend of mine highly recommended her, and I can’t be more grateful. I almost left my career, my marriage, and was feeling so overwhelmed with life. I was lost. Dr. Tokat brought back hope to my life. She listens. She cares. She guides. I can breathe again. As much as I don’t like to take any medications, I trusted Dr. Tokat’s recommendation, and my panic attacks are under control now. I can sleep better. I don’t cry daily. I turned things around with my career, and I communicate my needs better with my husband. Dr. Tokat will be my forever doctor!

Dr T is an amazing doctor. I wish she could be my general doc too. I needed help because I was on like 12 meds and she helped me get rid of like 10 of them!

I was referred to Dr. Tokat for possible Postpartum Depression. She had my blood tested, and apparently I was deficient in vitamin D. She told me I just need to go to my primary care doctor to get a vitamin D supplement. She rushed me out of her office, shrugged off my feelings and truly made me feel so much worse. I took Vitamin D and was still depressed. Luckily I was able to get help through another doctor.

I’ve found Dr. Tokat to be an incredibly capable, knowledgeable, and caring mental health practitioner. I was especially impressed with how thorough she is during the first session and the follow-up sessions. She’s a great listener and even offers tele-health which is incredibly convenient for me because I can squeeze my appointments in between my work and life responsibilities. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a great psychiatrist, especially one who understands women’s unique medical and mental health issues.

Absolutely horrible experience. She does not care about her patients at all. I cancelled 20/22 hours in advance due to an emergency and was charged the full amount of $395 on top of the $80 deposit putting me in a financial hardship and even worse mental health.

Dr. Tokat is a terrific psychiatrist. She’s helped me tremendously through some tough times. She is insightful, highly knowledgeable, and unlike many doctors, she truly listens. I feel cared for and in the right hands. Her credentials are impressive, but it’s her high standard of care that really sets her apart.
