Dismissive and Unattentive Care from Dr. LaBella
Dr. LaBella displayed a troubling lack of attentiveness during my mother’s hospital stay. During one visit, she barely stepped into the room, saw my mother with her eyes closed, and said, “She looks comfortable. I’ll come back later.” She never returned. On another occasion, when I told her I wanted comfort care for my mother, she didn’t wait for me to explain and rushed out of the room. From that point on, she made no further visits to check on my mother. Her lack of presence, and failure to properly evaluate my mother or engage in meaningful discussions about her care was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. In contrast to the many compassionate providers we encountered, Dr. LaBella’s dismissive approach stood out as a serious failure in patient care.

She was Terrible- not even deserving of one star (but this review program does not allow for no star ratings). She refused to come to bedside and finally did so after repeated complaints to the attending physician. She never once examined the patient even then. Worse still, she refused to modify the medication she had prescribed even though it was clearly not working. Only when the head of the dept came to bedside, examining the patient thoroughly, was the medication protocol changed - but it was too late. The patient passed away the next day.
