Dr. Angela Thompson, MD

I had what I thought was a UTI and my regular OBGYN at my home location didn’t have any appointments available that day. So they had me go down to a different location to see her. She had me go for urine testing before the appointment (totally fine), and had me get into stirrups for the appointment. I thought that was weird for a UTI (never had to do that before???), but once I was up on the table she says it was not a UTI. She examined me for 30 seconds or so, pushed her chair back, took her gloves off and says “you have a yeast infection” like I should’ve known better. I’d NEVER HAD a yeast infection before, so I had no idea what one felt like. She then asked me if my husband and I did certain things in bed. I told her that we did. She said “well, that’s the dirty deed that caused this yeast infection.” I was MORTIFIED. Never had I ever been treated like this by a doctor who is supposed to care for women. I cried all the way home and never went back to that location.

Dr. Thompson saved my life. 24 years ago, doctors had been trying to find what was wrong with me for months. She listened, paid attention, and found my cancer before it spread. She was kind, supportive, and professional. I would still be a patient if I hadn't moved away from Maryland. Best doc ever.

I was extremely disappointed in Dr. Thompson's care. After my appointment, I googled her and found lots of poor reviews where patients experienced the same thing I did, which was reassuring. She is condescending and does not explain things. When asked questions, she provides short responses in an irritable tone. As patients, we have the right to understand our care and treatment, and she does not feel like taking any time to explain anything. Go to another OBGYN. You deserve better.

I have been a patient of Dr. Angela Thompson's for nearly 20 years. She is a true professional. I have the utmost confidence in her ability. She makes a genuine effort to know her patients. She always takes her time and answers all my questions; I never feel rushed. When I leave her office, I'm 100% satisfied. I have recommended Dr. Thompson to my friends and family. It was a close friend of mine who works in obstetrics that recommended Dr. Thompson to me.

I'm dubious of the negative reviews for Dr. Thompson on this site. She's been my OB/GYN for 20+ years and has been nothing but friendly, caring, understanding, patient, and knowledgable. She has an excellent bedside manner. I never feel rushed as she patiently answers any questions I have.

Dr. Angela Thompson is an excellent and extremely knowledgeable OB/GYN. She has a very good bed side manner. She explains procedures in both medical terms and plain language. She listens and responds to questions, and ensures that there are no unanswered topics prior to the end of an exam. In my opinion, she is one of the very best doctor’s in her field.

Had an appointment at 10 am. She never apologized for the wait time and had horrible bed side manners. Will be switching to another OB. Never had a painful papsmear until seeing her.

She was extremely rude and unprofessional. Told me I am too old to start thinking about having kids at 33 years old. She belittled me, treated me like she was talking to someone completely dumb. Not going back to this "Doctor" ever.
