Run far away from him!
I came in for extreme pain in my abdomen. He said I had a ruptured cyst and gave me pain medicine. A couple days later, the pain was still there, so I went to the ER. The physician on duty knew exactly what it was. I had an ectopic pregnancy and was bleeding internally! Then, I was sent off for emergency surgery. I never went back to him and switched doctors immediately! He's never contacted me to apologize for his misdiagnosis. I don't recommend him to anyone!!

Terrible First Impression
Only had my first new patient visit with him and he was just plain condescending. My only health concern was continuing my existing antidepressant prescription. He ultimately gave me my script, but only after a long, sophomoric lecture about a medical experiment with rats... Ultimately implying that all anxiety and depression problems just come from external influences (i.e., he is determined to get you off meds). As someone who has suffered with these issues my whole life, and with a prominent family history, it was infuriating to sit through. Also, what an idiotic thing to do: talk down to your patient with anxiety and depression and make them sit there and think you won't continue their ESSENTIAL medication throughout 90% of their visit... He only got 2 stars here because he did the bare minimum of continuing my script.Just retire and spare us all the agita.

Don’t go, Terrible Dr and Clinton County Medical
Terrible Dr, no patient care. He only cares about money! Booking appointments regardless of the reason. Clinton County Medical center is gone downhill. I’ve went their sence I was 5 years old. Just left recently. All the good Dr’s either left or retired. Dr Lars Anderson was the last of the good ones their. They hired new young Dr’s who could care less and also only care about money and booking appointments. Front staff receptionists are rude expecially Taylor. They will lie to you over the phone about referrals and appointments requests from Dr’s they never spoke too.

Outstanding Doctor
After I suffered for years with a rare and painful disease, Dr. Messenger is the first doctor who truly worked with me on thoroughly understanding my condition and controlling the symptoms. He can seem brusque because he is very honest, but he is always kind, has time to listen, and treats me and my family members with respect. Since he has become our doctor, our level of health care has improved dramatically. This is not to say that our previous doctors weren't competent, only that Dr. Messenger is exceptional. Consider seeing him if you want to enter into a full partnership with your physician to improve your health.

Dr. Messenger use to be an amazing physician when he was in the old building. Ever since he moved into his new building all he cares about is making money to pay for his fancy new building. He seems to be losing it mentally as well. I feel like he has beginning stages of Alzheimer's. I'm actually very worried about him. Or maybe it's just the stress of paying for his fancy building? He just isn't as good of a physician as he use to be. It's sad. I feel like hes just all about making money.

Dr. Messenger is a fantastic physician, and always puts the patients wellbeing ahead of himself. Some of his former Suboxone patients can be very harsh about how they speak about him, but this is the case with every physician out there who runs a program for treating substance abuse. Addiction is a horrible disease, and Dr. Messenger's reluctance to prescribe narcotics to those who should't have them have left some with an extremely negative view of him. He's awesome!
