Hope he treats others better
Had 2 referrals to the guy in 4 years for 2 different concerns. First left bad taste in my mouth, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Today’s was worse. His lack of listening is dangerous. He is going to miss something critical simply because he is not interested in the patient and what they have to say. He is either miserable, incompetent, or thinks he is smarter than everyone. None of these are attributes you want in a doctor.

Horrible
Telehealth
He ordered one set of tests after me complaining about constant sinus infections, and said that since my one set of tests had normal numbers, I can just follow up in one year. He completely disregarded the problem that I am still facing.

Miserable person
My daughter has recently seen Dr. Petrov and it is shameful how he treats patients. UPMC is on notice from these many reviews that he is a mean ,uncommunicative heartless doctor. He needs to be retrained on how to be a decent human being. Shame on UPMC for allowing a misery on their staff.

He claims to treat Mast Cell Disease, but he will tell you that you need to see a psychiatrist and that your numerous physical symptoms are all in your head without even doing any medical testing. Avoid the medical gaslighting and find another doctor who has expertise in treating Mast Cell Disease. I would give him zero stars if it were an option.

Dr. Petrov, and the UPMC facility train far too many residents and fellows I always got stuck with them practicing on me. And then having to wait even more additional time while they report my history and findings to Dr. Petrov in private And one time I complained that he couldn’t be bothered to listen to my lungs himself. The worst part is that he would always make choose new inhalers myself! Hello, I am not a physician, and Board certified! How the hell am I supposed to know???!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. And then I ended up picking Symbicort! Did he or the pharmacist tell me it had an FDA Blackbox warning? NO! I switched and am much more truly satisfied with my current pulmonologist, Dr. Benjamin Laracuente. Beware just because doctors are affiliated with UPMC, it does not necessarily mean that they are the best in the field!!!

Had telemed call with the doctor’s PA. After testing revealed potentialmy scary health issues, this doctor relied on his PA to communicate with me. He did so even after I specifically requested to speak to him because I had many questions. This guy is hands off and is clearly unconcerned about his patient’s well-being. If you are looking to be treated with respect & dignity, I recommend finding a different doctor...

So, so arrogant, to the point of being detrimental to his patients' health. Does not listen to patients at all. That's where potential harm comes in.

Dr Petrov has a good reputation, but I can't figure out why! He presents with such a cocky attitude it's difficult to communicate with him face to face. He left me without any real treatment or treatment plan. He's impossible to get a hold of and won't follow through with the testing that he himself suggests. You'd be better off not seeking "care" with him.
