Dr. Andrea Pezzella, MD

A visit was some time ago and never again. A nurse catheterized me without warning, which was so painful I cried out. I knew I had a UTI before leaving. Did not appreciate office staff's attempt to photograph me.

I was referred to Dr. Pezella as I needed a specialist to handle a bit of a complicated prolapse surgery. She and her staff are so kind and explained every aspect of what to expect. There is no better office and I can't say enough about them. I would give them 10 stars if that was allowed! I highly recommend Southern Urogynecology!

After four weeks of waiting I am greeted by a young girl who tells me they will have to see if I can have my appointment as the insurance is not in network even though I am a patient of record and can self pay. They do lots of non-covered, aesthetic procedures but are balking at seeing someone with a medical problem who has been in pain for four weeks? Terrible lack of concern and statements like "we need to be paid you know" as if I had not paid any outstanding amounts. You pay first and then you get your medical help. Or, "we can make an exception for you" wow. Gee thanks. "We have to go through a lot of trouble to contact the insurance company about this" isn't part of your job processing claims and calling the insurance company? "I have no idea what your charges would be for today...but when you get that EOB you'll be calling here to complain" I left because I just couldn't believe what I was hearing right there within six other patients listening to this exchange.

I suffered with incontinence and received a mini sling via surgery. Nothing but discomfort, pain and urine leakage since surgery. Insult to injury, my gynecologist says my bladder is prolapsed. AP tried to give me a pill to take at my post-op to help with the leakage!

My experience with Dr. Pezzela was one of the most painless and comfortable surgery I have had even though my surgeries have always been out patient. Dr. Pezzela is the utmost professional. I am in awe that I suffered no pain during or after my procedure. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Unethical practice. Told me that after insurance my visit would be $40, then charged me almost $800. Billing staff is unprofessional and antagonistic. Had the audacity to claim that my insurance was confusing to them, which is "not their fault." I took it up to the practice manager, who was very nice. She took it up with Dr. Pezzella who decided not to adjust my bill. That says everything you should need to know about her interest in doing the right thing. I'm disgusted by this place.

I'm having wonderful results from surgery Dr Pezzella performed on me recently. She's very skilled and caring. Her office staff is friendly and accommodating. I feel new and improved and I appreciate Dr Pezzella getting me there!

Would never recommend Dr Pezzella to anyone.She had me on her surgery schedule and thank goodness i got a second opinion. Her bedside manner is non existent. Find another urologist...dont let her fancy specialty name trick you.

Dr. Pezzella and her staff are professional and caring. I received the best of care and consideration during my visits and testing. Krystle administered my testing with confidence. She explained each step before proceeding which put me at ease. Beth did a wonderful job getting me ready for surgery. Dr. Pezzella has dedicated her life work to helping women. I am fortunate to be under her care.

In the past year and a half, Dr. Pezzella performed 2 major surgeries for me. Her practices & skills up to date. I can’t say enough about the comfort & ease of recovery I experienced and level of confidence I had in both she and her staff at her new state of the arts office, including two different hospitals she uses and their excellent care in following her specific instructions.

Dr. Pezzella is an extremely skilled surgeon and is very knowledgeable in her specialty.

Was very rude, not compassionate at all. Office staff, nurses, and P.A. were all awesome. Dr. Pezzella walked by me one day when I was in the office and asked how I was doing. when I told her I was doing awful, she replied with a very rushed, un-caring "sorry, there's nothing else I can do for you" and that was it. not thoughtful at all. If you have IC do NOT go to Dr. Pezzella, she will not treat it as she has very little experience with it.

Lacks compassion, won't treat pain, instead demands you get expensive, painful surgical procedures known to flare IC pain. She is the worst doctor I have ever been to in my life.

Dr. Pezzella is a capable and thorough physician and surgeon. She gave me answers and solutions to incontinence problems that I have had for almost a decade, and gave me hope that I could fix something I never thought possible! Her office is beautiful and feels like a spa, and I had no problems making an appointment or getting any questions answered that I needed. I am recommending her and her office to all of my friends.

Dr. Pezzella and her staff are fantastic! I have been a patient there for over a year now and everytime I have an appointment I am greeted by a warm friendly staff. I never feel rushed while I am there and most importantly, my questions are always answered throughly. I am excited about the successful outcomes I have gotten through the care and medical treatments I have had as a patient there. Thank you so much Southern Urogynecolgy, you ladies are the best!

Dr. Pezzella is very caring, compassionate and thorough in her practice. She constantly is continuing her education and is always sharing new information and techniques with her patients. My Mona Lisa Touch treatment was so successful and has had made such a difference in the quality of my life! As a registered nurse, I weighed my options and researched thoroughly before choosing Dr. Pezzella. In my book, she is A+++++!

I do not recommend Dr. Pezella. She is not compassionate. During the exam, I was not warned that a catheter would be used. She did not listen to me and did not convey a sense of caring. I have had other OB/GYN's that were much better in other settings. (In another city.) I was excited about the specialty, but disappointed after I saw this MD. My PCP is much better.

I am a retired nurse. I was very pleased with her exam. Very detailed, but gentle. Explain all the details of what would be needed to correct the two procedures that I were done by another physician. I was referred by another patient who had excellent results from her surgery with Dr. Pezella.
