Back Surgery
I had my first back surgery in 1988 and lived with pain for over 36 years. I ruptured my L5L4 disc with spondylolisthesis in 2008 and did the injections, etc. trying to keep from having another surgery. I met with an orthopedic surgeon who was the “boy wonder” of MIS back surgery and an instructor at a university which everyone in the area accepted as the best around. He misdiagnosed the problem and refused to use MIS. I interviewed other surgeons and finally met with Dr. Jakoi. He diagnosed my problem correctly and told me he would do it with MIS. When I woke up from the surgery, it hurt, but the back pain I had suffered for all those years was gone. I have full range of motion and can do any activity I want to do. The surgery was much easier to recover from than my first one back in the day. Dr. Jakoi is a wizard when it comes to back surgery. Truly gifted. You will not find a better back surgeon in the country. I strongly recommend Dr. Jakoi.

Spine surgery
I had severe forminal stenosis of the L5 S1. I had visits with 3 neurosurgeons. Dr Jakoi was the only one who looked at my MRI and came in and told me he could fix it. He is very confident and makes you well taken care of. His nurse and Kyle explained everything that happened during my surgery. I am walking again and can sleep without pain. I can’t say enough good things about this office.

Back Surgery
I had back pain for over 30 years and had surgeries, injections, an implant and many doctor visits. Nothing made it much better until my surgery with Dr. Jakoi. The recovery took time but the pain I had for so long no longer exists. I can do pretty much what I want to now for an 80 year old man. I could not be happier.

He takes time to explain what he'll do to help you . I'm have a very complex back problem that other dr wouldn't touch . He was my last hope , he does require you to be smoke free for 6 weeks because smoking genders the healing process , he took the time to explain things in a way non medical person could understand , he gives you hope when you think there is none . He took time to review the medical evidence from other drs he has a good bedside manner and makes you feel at ease . He answers all your questions and also calls you ma'am

My back had major deformities. Therefore, I had my spine reconstructed by Dr. Jakoi with every vertebrate being realigned from my pelvis to my thoracic vertebrate and a missing curve put in. It required two days of surgery and the hospitalization and rehab. are not easy. But I am glad that I had it done. Since I awoke from surgery, I have had zero back pain. I have forgotten the pain I used to feel. We are not supposed to hurt like that, and I do not hurt, at all, any longer. My legs and ribs complain with spasms as they acclimate to the new positions they are in, but I have meds. for that. I am 42 days post op. I work very hard at physical therapy, and today, I walked 0.36 mile, without using my cane except occasionally on steps, with my physical therapist. Previously, a walk across a parking lot would have make my back hurt. A physician told me that Dr. Jakoi was "gifted". Dr. Jakoi humbly blushed when I told him that, but personally, for me, I agree with that assessment.

Just go! They are the BEST as of my own personal experiences which include a herniated disk and 2 radial head fractures (one on each of my arms) and a fractured wrist. This is all related to 2 separate injuries but I am just trying to summarize this and it's "complicated". I hope never to see them again unless needed but as long as they are around if I am in need of their services this is the 1st and only place I would want to call. I have been meaning to write a positive review for quite some time but I have been too busy not being stuck on the COUCH! Thank goodness! -Thanks for listening. p.s. I am just focused on increasing my Fitbit's step tracker gradually so you know I don't end up breaking anything else. Ok well, sometimes things are not in the span of our own control and that's o.k. but they might have the answers you are looking for.

Dont be fooled by the young face. He may appear young but know his stuff! He fixed my back after two doctors at the university made a mess and a third one referred me to him! His office is very busy but after my excellent experience I can see why.

Dr. Jakoi is a really busy guy but the wait to see him or any procedure is worth the wait. He cares. He is professional & talented. Not overly aggressive but does everything to meet the needs of the patient. He has operated on my spine twice. He even called me when I was hospitalized out of state. He wanted to know everything going on. He gives good instructions, clear & on point. His staff is AMAZING! His nurse, Emily, & his PA and NP are there to support him but mostly the patient.

Get ready to be ignored and rushed out the door if you see Jakoi. Also, if you're in pain he is not willing to help. He will, however, stereotype you as a person trying to get some easy drugs. If that were the case, it would be cheaper for me to go to the streets instead of paying for all of these appointments, MRIs, and x-rays. I am a non smoker, non drinker, and healthy other than my current un-diagnosed pain issue. Yet I am still told that he can do nothing for the pain.
