Terrible Experience
Dr. Ivy performed surgery on my 16 year old after 4 long years of issues with her elbow. When I asked questions before the surgery he dismissed me and told me I was getting ahead of things. After surgery, he disappeared. Zero aftercare instructions, zero follow up. We were unable to get pain meds after surgery and could not reach Dr. Ivy. 48 hours post surgery no pain meds. Dr. Ivy never called us. Possibly the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. Post surgery we had to do a follow up because she was experiencing some pain in multiple places. He actually said it wasn’t possible to have pain in more than one spot. Duly owes us an apology.

Dr. Ivy Unprofessional & Rude
Never touched my arm after I discussed constant arm pain that would wake me up at night. He said Carpal Tunnel is something diabetics only get. Saw several professionals after seeing Dr. Ivy who all gave eye-rolls and subtly and professional agreed at history of issues with him. He has no bedside manner, doesn't listen to patients. Snapped at me that my arm pain was due to poor posture. I would never recommend him. Filled out surveys from Duly on how terrible this guy is and never heard back. There is a reason he has so many appt times available, nobody wants to see him.

See someone else
The lack of service is what stood out the most. As a physician, you are at the bare minimum triage the patient. He did not!!! He told us to see our normal physician. My husband left still in pain. What a waste of time.

So bad I need to leave a review
This surgeon has an ego....too bad his skills don't match it! Patient became worse after surgery and Ivy tried to disappear post surgery (and have a PA in his place.) Don't believe the good reviews. I never review anything, but if I can help someone today, this review will be worth it.

Where did the doctor go? Dr Ivy abandoned my care
I was mid-point in my treatment for a broken finger with Dr. Ivy. I had an appt to have the PINS reviewed after 4 weeks, a critical juncture in my care. I showed up for my appointment, but Dr. Ivy never did. Someone else showed up and began treating me, unfortunately not well. I kept waiting for Dr Ivy to show up but he never did. It's the strangest thing to be left getting care from someone I didn't know and did NOT like or trust since Dr Ivy apparently decided he was too busy to see me? I've never experienced anything quite this disturbing in health care. I'm still waiting on an explanation. I suspect there isn't one.

A Helpful Second Opinion
Dr. Ivy came highly recommended by another one of my physicians or I would have had great pause seeing him given the reviews. Thankfully, I had nothing to worry about. I have a complex case and the hand surgeon I had seen didn’t grasp the complexities, which left me unable to use my left hand and a lot of pain. Dr. Ivy had a resident with him and had me show him my issues, then he had me show him a few things with my eyes closed and then while looking at my hand, which he used to point out the underlying issue to me and the resident. Then he told me the solution, which addressed the added layer of complications that I have. He saved me from needing surgery. He also told me that he doesn’t treat pain, which I took to mean that I needed to return to my physiatrist as she helps me with my pain. I’m grateful for Dr. Ivy’s patience with me and reassuring me that my issue is treatable.

RUN, don't walk.
Do not go to this doctor. And if you are a senior, RUN. He really pushed surgery for an elderly patient and never clearly explained that physical therapy is an option. He gaslighted the patient when the patient expressed concerns post-surgery. Most importantly, this doctor gets you stuck in a world of semantics. When you ask him what recovery after surgery will look like, he will ask you "where did you got the word recovery from....a tv show? I am not joking." Or, after surgery, if you say something doesn't feel normal, he will ask you what the word normal is, but never answer the question the patient had. Do not fall for this trap. Always ask questions, get clarity, ask about recovery and never get stuck feeling stupid walking out the door. Take ownership of your health care. This elderly patient can no longer move their arm like they could before surgery. Dr. Ivy never helped the patient post-surgery to get proper answers. My heart grieves that we did not go to a different surgeon

Patronizing and condescending. Since I wasn’t a surgery candidate, flippant and abrupt. He was not helpful at all. Still in pain and will try another doctor.

Terrible manner. No time for old people
Clearly NOT interested in my 88 yo fathers broken arm. Never touched him. Was abrupt and rushed. Never explained anything. I think he sees the elderly and doesn’t see value in restoring them to good health. Worst Duly specialist we have encountered and we have seen A LOT. Zero stars

Avoid this Landmine
Typical "I-know-all" Dr. with poor surgeon skills. He messed my hand and finger with such a simple easy surgery. I went back to him and raised concerns. He just told me to keep giving massages myself. The finger still does not have the full range of motion 4 months after the surgery. Never use this man for your hand issues.

Terrible, don't go to this doctor
I would not recommend this doctor. I don't know how to describe this person but just plain mean. He had no interest in treating me because I was probably not a surgical candidate. Without identifying the issue he immediately said I should start physical therapy. He did not even examine my hand, told me my hand pain (that I've had on and off for 10+ years) was all in my head and I needed to see a therapist for anxiety. He is sexist and rude. He came off as pompous and condescending and had terrible bed side manner. I left still in excruciating pain unable to use my hand. I followed up with my amazing PCP and she ordered imaging for me (an obvious first step to identifying the pain) and referred me to a different doctor.

I visited Dr Ivy on the recommendation of a friend. I found him to be very friendly, informative, and caring. He performed LRTI surgery on my left hand and the timeline for recovery was everything he'd told me it would be. I'm am very happy with care and treatment I received from Dr. Ivy. I am also sending my husband to see him for an elbow issue.

Outstanding physician and surgeon. He did bilateral carpal tunnel releases and Depuytren's contractures releases in office on each hand and the results were amazing. His Depuytren's method is unique. Fast, practically pain free, and quick recovery. 20 minutes in the office and I drove home. Extremely confident, quick, and highly attentive to the patient's comfort. Can't recommend highly enough.

I assume Dr. Ivy, only listens to certain patients. He is very condescending, my issues and concerns were not taken seriously, when I addressed my issues with he brushed me off. He needs to work on people skills and at least pretend like he cares. Do yourself a favor and choose another Doctor. I am wondering if he is selective what patients he treats with respect, care, and compassion.

I saw Dr. Ivy initially for rotator cuff tendinitis that turned out to be a torn rotator cuff that required surgery. Dr. Ivy was very personable and friendly, and thoroughly explained everything involved pre- and post-op, as well as my PT requirements which included the work I would need to put in for successful healing and range of motion. He answered my MANY questions, and while it was not always what I wanted to hear and is still a work in progress, Dr. Ivy's knowledge and thoroughness are what push me to perform my PT and assures me I'm on the right path! Very professional! Thank you!!!
