Dr. Anate Brauer, MD

After trying to conceive for two years my husband and I began the journey of looking for a fertility clinic for testing and assistance. As an African American woman it was important for me to find a place that would treat me kind and understand my needs during this journey. My gynecologist, who is also African American referred Dr Brauer and it’s been an extraordinary journey from the beginning. Dr Brauer is patient, knowledgeable and direct to the point when it comes to information about my health and care. The entire office is professional and I want to acknowledge that Sara, a nurse who works with Dr Brauer is fantastic as well. Shady Grove didn’t make me feel like a number and it wasn’t all about the money with them. I felt heard and at 40 years old I gave birth to a wonderful and healthy baby girl. This wouldn’t be possible with Dr Brauer. I plan to continue to build my family in the future with Shady Grove and specifically Dr Brauer.

I recently completed egg freezing cycles with Dr. Brauer, who is hands-down the best doctor I’ve had the privilege of knowing. Dr. Brauer is warm, knowledgeable, smart, and compassionate. She is exactly who you want calling the shots (literally and figuratively). Shout out to all of the other doctors, nurses, and staff at SGF NY who answered my countless questions and always made me feel comfortable, safe, and supported. And a special shout out to my nurse Sara Charlesworth who was with me every step of the way. Sara exudes warmth, positivity, and passion, and I feel so lucky to have been under her care. I might actually miss my visits to SGF NY, which always felt more like a home than a doctor’s office.

I recently completed two egg freezing cycles with Dr. Brauer and I'm blown away by the overall care, knowledge, and compassion from her and the staff at SGF New York. As a nurse, I've worked with many physicians and without question, Dr. Brauer is one of the best. She's warm, attentive, reassuring, and vigilant. It's evident she deeply cares about each patients success and will be your biggest cheerleader. Her nurses are responsive, smart, and take the time to answer questions and concerns. I could not speak more highly of this practice and Dr. Brauer!

Dr. Brauer is very knowledgeable. My treatment went exactly as she described it. She was appropriately encouraging without giving false hope. I felt I was in good hands with her and her team.

We switched to Shady Grove/Dr Brauer after a few unsuccessful attempts and we got a positive result after the first try! She is enthusiastic, smart, and caring. Her whole team was a pleasure to work with and I thought the office was also very modern, clean, warm and welcoming. Never waited long and they had effective communication either over the phone or through their portal. A great experience all around!

I have seen Dr. Brauer and team for 2 different pregnancies. She is warm, knowledgeable and gave me great advice for least invasive procedures. The entire office is fantastic.

Often my cycle felt disorganized and not communicated across the team. Rarely saw Dr Brauer during my appointments and felt like I constantly had to call to receive answers to my questions and concerns.

I just want to take a moment to thank SGF for such a wonderful experience. I recently opted to voluntarily freeze my eggs and was apprehensive about the entire procedure. I have nothing to say but positive reviews to the entire staff with SGF. Special shout out to the nurses and NP's ( Sarah and Isabel) who answered every single question I had and made me feel safe, cared for, and supported no matter how annoying I was. They were so flexible with my hospital schedule (I was able to continue working 2 jobs without a problem) and everything was done with kindness and a smile. The facility was efficient, clean, and I highly recommend SGF to anyone in need! Dr. Brauer's practice is top of the line and you will be in good hands for every emotional and physical part of this journey!

I came to Dr. Brauer at SGF at the recommendation of my OBGYN (1060) trying to get a better handle of what was happening with my fertility. I was looking for guidance, support and knowledge and Dr. Brauer really delivered on that all starting with our initial call where she gave me a detailed lesson on fertility overall and answered all of my questions. It was obvious from our first call that she was someone I could trust. From there, I spent many months trying various treatments and felt supported not only by her but by the fabulous nursing staff (shout out to Lily and Sarah specifically!) and other doctors who I got to know as well. There is extreme care given to patients - they call you after each appointment when you can ask any and all questions; and they are super speedy to return messages in the patient portal and from extra phone calls. Another great thing for me is how early in the morning they see you (starting at 6:45am) and how quickly you are seen.

Shady Grove was my second fertility clinic, and SGF/Dr. Brauer were a vast improvement over the other doctor and clinic! I didn't feel like a cog in a machine, I was treated like a human. Dr. Brauer (and Dr. Singer, also at SGF) seem to genuinely care and to be emotionally invested in the outcome. I always felt that she kept a positive attitude without giving unrealistic expectations.

Dr Brauer and SGF nurses Debs, Lily and Sarah are best of the best. Experienced, thorough, compassionate and committed. I always felt like I had partners in my fertility journey; happy to educate, thoughtful about my individual plan or considerate when it came to following up or checking in. I highly recommend Dr. Brauer if you’re looking for a tailored approach to building a family.

Dr. Brauer is an outstanding doctor with an amazing team of nurses and support staff. I had a phenomenal experience working with Shady Grove Fertility. I felt incredibly informed and supported throughout the entire journey.

Not knowing what to expect when we set out on our fertility journey and being nervous and naive about what lie in store for us, Dr. Brauer took our hands and walked with us as we took our first steps towards parenthood. IVF can be an emotional journey full of ups and downs. Ours certainly was. But Dr. B served as a constant in our process, someone who fueled our hopes and helped us set realistic expectations. Part doctor, part counselor, part realist, and part fun aunt, Dr. Brauer was always what we needed her to be. Ultimately we couldn't have asked for a better reproductive endocrinologist. Now 16 weeks expecting, we're excited to meet our baby girl this summer. One day, we hope she'll get to meet Dr. B to celebrate the wonders of science and get to know the passionate professional who helped bring her into this world.

We went to Dr. Brauer after repeated failed IUI (4 times), and IVF (3 times) with the last embryo transfer resulting in an ectopic pregnancy. We had great hesitation and mixed expectation when we first reached out. We were at a point in life where we had to consider backup options in our fertility journey. At first consultation, Dr. Brauer quickly put us at ease through a frank but encouraging assessment of our situation and a sound proposed path forward. She was warm, direct and transparent (which we desperately needed after initial rounds of disappointment). We followed her advice with 2 wildly successful egg retrieval. Dr. Anate Brauer is an excellent Fertility Doctor i have ever encountered. I have been to many other Fertility doctors but Dr Brauer surpasses all of them.
