Dr. Amy Novatt, MD

I bet the doctor does not know that you cannot make a follow up appointment with her. Whoever checks the phone messages NEVER calls back. I am an established patient. Optum is horrible. Appointments, if you can get them, are an average 4 months in the future. You need a gyn? Go to Westchester or NYC. Dr. N. will lose many patients due to administrative incompetence.

I saw Dr. Novatt for years. She was fine until I needed surgery, and then I couldn't believe how unhelpful she was. In a time of urgency, she insisted that I return for an in-person follow-up appointment (which took weeks), only to tell me the same information that her nurse shared over the phone. I was referred to Caremount/Optum surgeons only, all of whom were unreachable. When I asked for help securing an appointment, I was told, "We don't really do that" by her nurse. Novatt followed up with me months later, coincidentally after I shared my frustrations with a mutual friend. Long story short, I am forever grateful to the OBGYN team at Mount Sinai, where I received THE BEST care–my phone calls were answered/returned immediately, I had a team of knowledgeable surgeons, and everyone from the front desk staff to the doctors treated me like a human being...and I had a successful surgery! We all deserve this kind of top-notch medical care. Unfortunately, you won't find with Dr. Novatt.

I have had Dr. Novatt as my gynecologist for almost 12 years. She is intelligent, caring, competent and kind. I am post menopausal and she is understanding and knowledgeable in this particular area.

She's probably an excellent doctor but honestly I felt she was arrogant and condescending.

I recently moved to the area and wanted a female gynecologist with significant experience and knowledge in the field. After researching several local doctors, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Novatt in January 2019. I am so delighted that I did! Not only was she on time, but her manner was a lovely combination of professionalism and warmth! I felt right at ease with her. We spoke of many things and her responses were thorough. She takes her time with her patients, which is great!

I was impressed with the office personnel but Dr. Novatt was great! She took time to get to know me and really listened to me. I was very happy to have gone to see her. I have already recommended her to several of my friends.

Dr. Novatt has always taken a wholistic interest in me as a patient. She is clear in her recommendations and offers options when they are requested. She does not carry the arrogance that some other physicians have. She also is on time with her appointments.

Dr. Novatt has always taken the time to listen, explain and educate. Her care has been consistently outstanding.
