Dr. Amy Hussey, DO

Everyone from the receptionist, to the Medical assistant, to the Doc were just very friendly. Zero judgements, just looking to help. I have only been once so far, but great first experience

We seek Dr Hussey’s care as my mom’s first primary care physician after she began experiencing new health issues. At the first appointment, Dr Hussey did a wonderful job at listening her concerns along with ensuring that the problems were being effectively treated. There were an issue that would require diagnostic testing at a different center. Usually, you’d have to make a new appointment on another day but Dr Hussey was happy to request a stat order so my mom could have it done the same day. During the long period between routine appointments, if my mom experienced a new minor problem like insomnia, we could just give Dr Hussey’s office a call and she’ll be quick to return with a solution. With Dr Hussey being my mom’s family doctor/PCP, I know her general health is in good hands.

I have used Dr. Brown and Dr. Byrd for years. Dr. Hussey joined their group. My husband and mother use them as well. At the end of the visit she said do you need any of your prescriptions refilled. I replied yes and told her the name. She said great and she would refill it. When I received the medicine, it was for once a day verses twice a day. I called the office, she had an assistant call me. She acted like she did not want to mess with me and said that was the way Dr. Hussey turned it in. I requested she speak to Dr. Hussey again and call me back. After 2 days I had not heard anything, so I called and spoke to someone who was very nice. He said, yes, I see on your chart where you have taken this same medicine twice a day for several years. I am sure this was just a mistake, I will get it fixed. He called me back in an hour and said Dr. Hussey did not want to make it my original dose. she wanted me to take this dose. WHY DIDN'T SHE TELL ME WHEN I WAS IN HER OFFICE?
