Wonderful care
Dr. Gosman took wonderful care of my son, I felt listened to and she validated all of my concerns before and after surgery. Through several wound care appointments we found her and the entire staff to be both supportive and empathetic.

Condescending, very poor bedside manner
We've seen Dr. Gosman about 5-10 times in caring for our child (clinic, surgery, post-op). The one positive and the reason we work with her, is that her technique is unique in the region for our child's condition and made sense as the best option for us. We do not, of course, know how to assess the quality of her surgical skill but all went well, and assume given her extensive experience it is high. The big problem: Dr. Gosman has the singular worst bedside manner we have ever experienced in any service industry, period. Extremely condescending attitude to any question. Makes you chase obvious follow-up questions that anyone would want/need to know. Very poor at explaining things that we need to know to provide our child with the best support possible. Seems an intimidating boss to the healthcare professionals around her. Does not factor in practical realities like scheduling or creating at-home support networks at all in her guidance. Highly disappointed in the provider overall.

Disappointed Parents – May 20, 2022

Her facial expressions seemed to reveal disinterest during my examination. Not the best communication I’ve received from a clinician … surprisingly unprofessional at one point, lacking objectivity and tact. She skirted around a question I had regarding potential complications she had encountered with cases like mine. I didn’t sense the level of confidence my other UCSD doctors had. It’s a shame, I was looking forward to their help and now I’ll be seeking another team elsewhere. They spoke of her highly, so she’s clearly accomplished but as a patient my experience was a disappointment and discouraging.

Consistently an hour to 2 hours late for appointments, just to spend 2 minutes in the room with you. The most time I got with her was finally unloading on her the terrible treatment I'd received for the past year and a half. They add things to your chart that aren't discussed, I've had people at the office tell me different things regarding my surgery and after care, and even had a nurse open the door to leave while I was still undresses in the middle of the room. On top of that my concerns were repeatedly ignored and questions remained unanswered. I wish I hadn't had my surgery here, results were not great, so I hadn't had to deal with her for follow up for the next year. Should have found a better surgeon.

Dr. Gosman could care less about patients, she's all about the glory & the spotlight & has no problem making patients wait 2, 3 4 hours for their appt - Office staff is rude & unaware, bathrooms are filthy, the whole clinic is a nightmare in the making and every single team member know it, including Dr. Gosman - but again, she could care less!

Dr. Gosman is kind and skillful -- a winning combo in a plastic surgeon. I saw her for breast reconstruction following a double mastectomy and she was amazing. I feel so grateful to have found her.
