Dr. Alya Torna, MD

Went in with high hopes but was met with an argumentative doctor who made it difficult to advocate for my health concerns. Dr. Torna's bedside manner could use some training. I would advise anyone to look for a different primary care physician.

The support staff works very well with the Doctor with referrals, tests, specialists visits. Excellent PCP who listens well and is not overwhelmed by a complicated case. Willing to refer to specialists and testing. Knowledgeable about current developments in care for my conditions.

Dr . Torna is a good listener and gives clear and thorough explanations. Her demeanor is genuine and demonstrates care for her patients.

Dr. Torna is not only very competent but caring. She actually calls after visits and tests if necessary. Her office people are fantastically kind and also competent. She called and made appointments with specialists for me. In today's medical climate I am relieved I found her.

She was able to diagnose bilateral pulmonary embolisms from all the medical numbers which i gave her in the video chat. She recommended that I call 911 which I did.

I have been a patient of Dr. Torna at her office in Rancho Palos Verdes for 6 months. She is a mild mannered physician with a soothing voice, which is the type of personality I am most comfortable with. She always finds time to address my concerns and ensures that I have a thorough understanding of suggested treatment plan. She is receptive to my suggestions and opinions on matters concerning my health and does not shut them down. She personally follows up with lab and imaging results and never leaves me hanging anxiously awaiting them. The office is conveniently located along the major route and across from key shopping center. As an added convenience, there is always ample parking space available. If you are in the process of finding a new primary care doctor or simply are seeking a second opinion, I urge to set up an appt. with Dr. Torna. It's unlikely that you will be disappointed.

This is the worst patient care I have ever encountered! Why you are accepting new patients??? At least be honest and tell people that Doctor Torna is leaving the office for good. I called them to schedule an appointment to see doctor Torna for my annual wellness exam. I gave them all my insurance information. They accepted me and they didn’t mention that Doctor Torna is leaving the office for good. Also, they made me pay $120 for that saying the insurance doesn’t cover it. I called my insurance and they cover that 100%. They are just scammers trying to collect money from people.

After many years I have finally found an outstanding doctor. Dr Torna is an excellent physician. She takes the time with her patients and personally will follow up. She truly cares. I have recommended her to family and friends. Her support staff is hardworking and thorough.
